I've driven the S for a long time, with Saturns, 17.5T to 8.5T brushless, and I can tell you it doesn't need much other than a spring set and good tires to perform great at all but the very top level. Unless you like the upgraded parts for bling (and that's ok), resist the urge to hop it up much.
Spring sets over the stock set up and a good set of tires (look at what the other guys are running) is where to focus. Nobody ever became a better driver because they had carbon fiber shock towers. :-)

race it off and on till winter then almost every weekend i will race.
are lrp esc and motors any good? or what outher brands are way good.
what should i go with for the shock ils and springs. o and i will only b racing rubber tires.
i got silver springs i cant remember the stiffness, oil run got 40 in front 60 in back. i only run ezrun esc's and motors for the most part i got a one motor and esc coming that im going to try out, next to running stock rtr esc & motors.
my other one is set up 70w in front and back, and hard in back and mid soft in front. but its my drift car so.
what class are you looking to run in when you start racing.
o the gecko form rubber tires hook up well for my and at 20 bucks for a set of 4 its not really that bad. when i buy i buy 20-40 sets at a time to cut down on buying every weekend.

My local track has/had a spec class with the Cyclone S. As it's a beginner class we get to see what breaks often. The C-hubs are made of eggshells. Replace them with the carbon graphite ones that come on the regular cyclone. The other main thing I would recommend is the BRP kydex bumper for the TC3 and modify it to fit. It will save you a lot of money and frustration in broken parts. We had some racers make front bumpers out of stiffer material and it lead to broken chassis instead.
you know I didn't know that, thinks for letting me know that, i have not hand it happen even with my me putting a 6000kv brushless in one o mine. unless the guy i go them form all ready did it.
so you can use the other cyclone moldes parts on the s moldes right?

thanks mark i too am intrested in getting into tc and have looked at this car from a better price standpoint...i don't want to sell all my nitro stuff just to go racing at my lhs track. i too will be running rubber tries and in the 17.5 bl class. don't want to spend alot and not like it. sorry to highjack your thread but it is nice to know someone else who can't see spending 400 plus for just a roller.. besides i need to drive a "slower" car to get the feel of this on road thing any way.. get back to me and we can swap info you or i find on this car. ltr
I started in on-road with the Cyclone S and it's not really a particularly strong car, but it's not to bad. I would suggest maybe getting one of the pro ball diffs and some universals in the front just so you don't end up with busted diff or popped out dog bones. Besides that you need to put the carbon C-hubs that come on the Cyclone TC kit on, because stock ones are very weak. The only areas I ever had trouble with were in those 3 areas.

i dont race to much i just buy them build them up then end up selling them. but i have 4 car 2 on and 2 off that im not getting ride of and im thinking about racing . but the bad thing is there are no local tracks that run on a set days. and i dont even now what classes they are running. but there is a 1970 trans am body at the shop im looking at getting thinking about midnight blue with a baby blue pin strip down the side.
does any one know where i can find a stander list of rules/ specs for every class out there?
