I just order some parts from hkshobby.com. He seems to have stock all the parts for the VM2. I also ran the ABC hobby mini series in Socal with the VM2 and it is pretty competitve with the HPI and the ABC genetic car.

does this car use regular TC wheels ? ( diameter the same ?)
If so, then I'm buying one ! I am not interested in realistic bodies and tire size , I just like the smaller race TC.
I already have the mini xray with stratus bodies but the CG of the car is a bit too high to my liking.

impressions after building vm2
I purchased a vm2 last week and built it this past friday. Purchased from HKShobby in california and it arrived in 2 days via usps priority. Here are my impressions:
The chassis is indeed fiberglass layered with graphite. In stock build the chassis is very stiff, so I am not sure if 100% graphite is needed.
good:
1) excellent instructions and well packed and separated parts in box
2) good quality parts, although a little sanding is necessary (very little on the top and bottom of the front knuckles)
3) kit goes together easily and fairly quickly
4) basically a 1/12 scale cross between a tamiya 416 and xray t2 008
5) almost all the parts are already hopped up and it's very light
6) any lipo battery will fit because the battery sits next to the bulkheads, not under them.
7) spare parts are inexpensive ($4-$5 for a pair of arms, knuckles, or chubs, $5 for belts, etc.)
8) kit setup wheelbase fits the abc bodies perfectly
cons:
1) shocks are ok, I used spare tamiya trf shocks. you can't compare the smoothness between the 2, although in all fairness, I don't think any shocks are as good as tamiya trf
2) ball ends pop off too easily when adjusting links. They should have used captured ends on the c hubs and rear uprights (I might change to xray ends, we'll see)
3) plastic wheelbase shims should have been aluminum. I changed to aluminum shims and everything is tighter and smoother
4) for lipo, the battery stops don't work (except for 1 on the inside- you have to cut it though.) Batteries have to be taped in.
Overall, given the competition (abc genetic, hpi cup racer) this is a great kit, and at about $245 is a great value among the current mini chassis. I have yet to run it, but it's basically a 1/12 touring car scaled down, and since it has won almost all of the mini series races, you know it's good.

1) the kit setup has about 3.5' of rear toe. Each mm spacer is 1.5'. I replaced the 2mm spacer with 1mm and now the toe is 2'.
2) use an xray 3mm reamer on the inner holes in the arms, makes suspension travel much smoother.

i am going to purchase one of these cars and have a few questions:
1- are there any mandatory upgrades for this car?
2- do they sell an actual touring car body (miss my mini corally)?
3- hks sells the car, where can i get a tourer body?
4- what power do people generally run in this car?

2&3) Spice makes a touring car body.
4) we run mabuchi motor here. people in Hong Kong runs 8.5t brushless
