honestly, i think 13.5T will be fine. in asia guys are running mod motors in their mini's.

does anyone have a body suggestion? i have my VM2 built, but i'm lacking tires and a body. i'm going to wait and see what the tire rules, if any, for the Snowbirds race.

Spice makes great touring bodies for the VM BUT...you have to buy it over seas as far as I know. check out rcmart.com. I have the Accord style

The Atomic "mini" can easily handle much more power than a 13.5 can deliver. They are a really well built small touring car, not in the same class as an HPI Cup Racer, or ABC mini.

Great cars though for sure.....

I've been running mine with a 5.5 at 8.5:1 with both factory frnt/rear diff set up with 12 runs on lipo and nothing showed wear and tear. Hmm maybe I'm driving to slow?

was this with the accord body you spoke of? I can only imagine bodies will make as much of a handling difference as they do in 1/10 touring or even mini-z

Yes I used the Accord body and to be honest bodies for 1/10 to mini I can never feel a difference. The only thing that is important is the rear wing which does help keep the rear in check at high turning. Gearing and weight is the only dynamic setting I feel makes a difference in the performance oh and of course the turn motor but you know and I know that anyone can make a car fast but can it handle well.
