Dan , how about shock mounting position. I bought a VM2 carpet car and ran it at Norcal outdoor track. The front and rear top shock mounting holes are in the very inside hole. With this setup the car seems to be lively in the rear. It wants to swing out . I have stock springs,no sways,5mm around ride height. Any help would be good for outdoor asphalt setup.

Anyone got other setup tips and pics of their ride especially showing what body they use.?

Late last week EGR shows the lipo version as available. Now it's out of stock again. Good thing our lhs[FPR] has some coming in. Not sure who's getting them and how many left after the preorders. I'm getting mine tomorrow morning and doing a marathon build and hoping I can run it on the weekend.. Just for fun . I'm putting a mini cooper pickup body on it.

Got my lipo version. FPR racing got a few more available if anyone wants one. He'll get more in but saw 3 more on the shelves.

Got one on hold for me next week. Tried to pick one up after work but last one sold out.

I'm putting my current VM2 up for sale soon.

Who picked up the other 3? Getting mine assembled and only have the suspension and electronics left. Mini cooper pickup body is going to be painted.

Just got one on Friday and when I was putting it together I ran into a problem. One of the shock shafts is about 1.5mm shorter then the others. Is the front and rear diff. lengths? Or are they all the same length?

Default question on swaybars

just brought a set of front and rear sway bar set for the xray car to put on my atomic vm2 lipo was wondering about the rod end links would they be too long and if so what would i need to to do to make the sway bars work ? i was thinking that i would have to cut down ball end and use shorter grub screws. i have them set up on the car now but it don't seem like the sway bar are active. can i get some input please thanks

what build info do you need. A few things to watch out. The rear belt needs a notch back to tighten it a little. Don't forget the plastic 2mm washer to give you some rear toe in. The front turnbuckles seems to come off easily.

I use the T2 multi-diff up front set up as a spool on the rear use T2 ball diff. Those are the only Xray parts I use.

I have not ran my car with sways yet. I will try it soon. Per Dan[1 or 2 pages down suggested thick in the front and thin sways in the rear. Concerning the diffs. If you have the Lipo version ,I think the kit comes with spool in front and gear diff in the rear. I would use the stock ones for the meantime. Just came back from Norcal Hobbies and ran my car with the default setting. Front shocks is one hole in on top and rear was stock setting. Front droop was changed from 3 to 4 and rear stayed at 3. It ran well. The car has a lot of steering. I need to work on it more. 50wt all around felt better than the 30wt I had beforehand. My next adjustment would be front shock will be more lay down by moving the top inwards to the most inner hole. This was a suggested setup in the manual per Atomic when using K-body[?]. More testing to come.. Planning on switching the oil on the rear gear diff from a 3k to Losi black grease.
Only negative is the rear was kinda loose everytime I would take a right turn. I don't have a tweek staion or setup station to see where I'm at. More testing to come. Any other input would be nice to find the sweet spot of the Lipo edition.

Got my VM2 Lipo in. For those that are interested in upgrading to the thinner and slimmer chassis rather than buying a new car, I have good news. The bulkhead and motor mount holes all line up with the original VM2. The only main difference is the servo mount holes have moved more inwards. See attached picture of new chassis placed on top of old. The thinner upper deck also is a bolt on affair with the original VM2.

Oh yeah....the lipo version comes with green dish wheels.....interesting..
