Matt > thanks for the info.

This tire and insert war is crazy. Wrong insert and the tire is down the drain with your money.

wolf, no, I don't think so. Here, yoke firms, echo red, either sorex, med thin or firm thick, HPI red, green etc. will all work, sometimes one just has a slight advantage.

The difference between the A and the B inserts is the thickness, there is no difference between the A and B as far as density. You can go to teamsorexusa.com for more info if you want.

Default insert thickness

i have speedmind firm blue inserts that have 6.0mm thickness.
thinking to grind 'em down to 5.5 or 5.0mm to use with sorex or hpi r33 tires.

anyway, how thick are your inserts ?

Sounds like a pick up line to me, "So, hey there...how thick are your inserts?" SLAP!

We use sorex, med traction indoor carpet...but it gets COLD in there. The best deal going I think is to do the combo thing from Speedtechrc.com

Anyone ever use the JB Foam inserts in Sorex tires? I've tried them in Sorex 24/20 and they seemed pretty good. They're lighter than others. But, I think HPI reds hook up the best in Sorex 24/20's. (I'm running Stock on ozite)

I use yoke med inserts, but I got some of the sorex tires/inserts from speedtechrc.com. I havent tried them out yet though.

Jeff, have you tried echo reds in that combo? I have tried both, and personally I like the echo a little better because it seems to hold up better.

As I said, also mounted up a set with the think firms from sorex. Have yet to try them.

I haven't tried Echos yet. Sorex's either. In Sorex tires, I've only used HPI Red, Green, and JB blue inserts. In Yokomo tires, I've used Yokomo Med/Firm inserts, and JB blue inserts.

I think the echo reds are pretty much the same compound as the HPI's, perform just as well but hold up better.

Default Sorex for SoCal stock

Wolfman:

Wassup?

Hey, I'm a newbie at SoCal and have been running the Yok firms with Yok med inserts in stock class.

What do you recommend in the Sorex for stock class? 28r with HPI red?

Yok > I assume you are running the Yok Sprint Tires right now? That set-up is good and use to be the best tire, but now people are going to the Sorex or Yokomo.

For the Sorex, I have only tried the 36r with HPI Green Insert. I just bought a pair of 32r (Chilly here in SoCal at night) and I have not decided on an insert yet. But I may go with HPI Red, Sorex Medium Thin, or I really want Echo, but the order did not come through. He got everything but the Inserts

In Summet time the 36r were hooked, they are good now, but a cool weather tire is in order.
