if youre planning to do a 1/18 scale dragster, then the best way may be to build a pan car using an HPI Micro RS4 rear end plus install the front suspension on a custom chassis but ditch the drive belt to make it a RWD direct drive car...
as for 1/14, just modify the heck out of a 1/12 pan car
good luck on the project though... hope you can pull it off.

kay,
the front end is going to be a micro t's front end with a mini t back end, the chassis length is around 32.5 cm

update, i have a mini t so i measure the rear end of it, but if i have a micro t i could measure the front end too. the whole concept is, there are no arms, the whole chassis is like a H, dont know whether its good or not, but im gonna be the first to try it
i have a mini t rear hub and a stock sliper,
the back end is gonna have a transmission case, and glued diff's, *locked*

you might want to try using a robitronic scalpel for you drag car. it's an 18th scale pan car and very similar to most drag cars.

i plan on using balsa and scratch build the body, kinda like what kenazzo did,
but it will be much more lighter because its balsa and it will be strong after i paint it with 2 coats of expoxy (thin coats)
will check out the cars. one more thing is. the front end, i was thinking of making a front end like the one on the rj-speed electric dragster,
link : it doens have a real link to the kit, but go to the electric dragster kit section in the car kit section.
i'll do a sketch of how it will look like.
i have a problem. working out the front end and steering is hard,
im thinking of having a rj-speed front end(the link is up there)
but i need the steering block which is kinda hard to order as im in malaysia,
but i really like the scalpel style steering system, the scalpel one has the one thats almost the same as the AE 12R5
if im not mistaken, but where can i find that particular part that joins to the servo? help please.
sketch coming up.
