Default speed control amp ratings

hey
i have been running a lrp v7.1 in my xray for the past year in stock, and its been going well, but i have just recently bought and installed in my car an lrp quantum competition

i just realised on the v7.1 box it says its rating is 690amps but on the quantum box it says it is only rated to 235amps, what does this mean, is the v7.1 faster???

No. That's just the maximum current that can go thru the esc before bad things happen, ie "Blown Up Sir!".

those are for peak sudden currents only.
it can never survive 235A for more than 2 secs.an arc welder would have less currents

All the ESC current numbers are theoretical, just like the on resistance numbers. They're derived from the data sheet specs on the FETs used in the ESC, and only apply at room temperature in a vacuum on third Tuesdays that have full moons in a leap year. Typically you'll want to pull 20% or so off of those to geta reasonable max spec.
