I've been using the front one way on carpet for a while now. I like it, it suits my driving style but be warned it is not very beginner friendly.
Using the one way will affect how much brake and drag brake you can use. If your the type of driver that likes to drive into the corner under brake then this is not for you. You need to have very good throttle control or a very fast track for the one way to be effective

I set my max brake to only 10% and only really use the brake for sharp hairpins.
Sounds scary but it works for me.

So I need a replacement for the little plastic stopper on the spur gear main shaft.
It is on the K parts tree, number 12. It does not have a part number.

Does anyone know of a aluminum piece I could get to replace this plastic POS???

Default GT3

Racing my ta05 v2 in GT3 and maybe VTA. I got most of the issues worked out. Changed to a ball diff (all I could get), got drop figured out. Car ran okay. I was told I should get universals. Should I spend the $50+ for the double cardan ones, or just get the standard ones? Also do I need 44mm or 46mm? Guess I have to measure my dog bones?

Thanks
Chris

I have been looking for that pos also. I believe it is part of the updated blue motor mount spur gear case set #54197; ( You can call Jeff at SpeedtechRC or Customer Service at Tamiya USA to confirm. This sucks but I pretty sure it is part of that set

I run the 44mm DCJ but Ive heard of other running the 46 mms to have the shaft seat further into the drive cups. I think it has been discussed here, try doing a search.

I believe this is the part you're looking for: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...uct-id=3455706 , at least that's what I found in the instruction manual for my 415MSX that I got one from to use on my TA05v.2

I haven't tried the DCJ's yet, but I do use 46mm steel shafts on mine along with the front spool, pretty happy with it that way...

Thanks,

But are the dcj's worth the $50+? I race occasionally and the DVJ's are almost more than I paid for the car. I can only find the standard univerals over seas.

TQ has it listed under the parts section for the TA05v2.

It looks just the same as the center shaft stopper of a TRF415

4.3 should be fine or even lower. I run a 21.5 in vta with the ta05ifsv2 and it doesnt get very hot but we have a limit of 4.2

Ok thanks. No gear limit in TCS GT3. I just dug out the TA05 and I was running 3.75 in GT2 17.5 I was still under geared, they really push it at the Tamiya track. so I will probably start there and check the temps.

I just ordered that part. The Plastic stock part look like it could easily strip and fly off.
I'm getting ready for Tamiya TCS at Aliso Viejo in GT3. I just swapped the 17.5 for a 21.5. Hope to get some practice laps in Saturday; )
