Post Ta05 Gear Diff

Purchased the TA05 Gear diff #54312. What size Hexes are the really tiny screws that hold the diff halves together? Thank you for your response.

Questions??

I'm running a 13.5 brushless motor with 64 pitch gears. 28 pinion 81 spur

When running it in the street (no track time yet) the motor is usually just warm but the ESC gets noticeably hotter than the motor. I've only been using 3000 mAH 7.2v NiMH batteries but I got a 5000 mAH 40c Li-Po that I haven't used with it yet.

I'm worried if I have a bad gear ratio I'm going to kill my ESC.

I still don't understand gear ratios or anything, but is my set-up a recommended ratio?
If not, where should I start and what size gears should I invest in?

Anything helps, thanks.

Zac

To you guys that are running the Exotek chassis.....can you post pics of how you routed your wires from the esc to the motor? I know the plastic tub has the brace/guard but since you lose that with the carbon chassis you lose that brace.

Hi im a newbie on this forum
ive been reading thru 100+ pages on this thread and im having probs with my ver 2

The problem is that on the straights and high speed corners the car just spins even with a little tap on the controller and hardly runs straight, On the low speed corners its just about borderline and the rear just wanna break loose (as theres enough grip up front to throw it off)
(I checked the arms are equal length etc etc)

Specs:
TA05 ver 2
Brand new carbon reinforced chassis
Universal front driveshafts
Front medium sway bar
Rear soft sway bar
TRF dampers with medium springs ( 2 holes, 55wt oil)
Tamiya SS-RZ motor 5.75.1 gear ratio
Tamiya medium narrow tyres all round
Front ball diff (tight as i dare)
Rear ball diff (loose)

I kinda know how to tune a car and i have the xray setup manual to guide me thru, plus ive done things to make it 'understeer more' but its still the same (without going to extreme angles on toe and camber)

Check of you're using the same sized diff pulley front and rear. Kit comes with both 36 & 37 pulleys. Also running a spool up front and harder springs in front.
