I would be weary of that.

Yah, tires are like 98% of your setup, man. You can try all day, if your tires are junk, your car will be junk.

I am going to run these tires until they drop, just too see what kind of mileage i can expect- because i am new to rubber again. But as soon as my car starts loosing 10ths.. (let alone, handling poorly) theyre out.
The top deck thing was really to get a lot more flex, as the car seems too stiff and was one of the things I thought made the car too sensitive in direction changes. Lucky I didnt write the car off lol! - I will screw it back in for saturday testing. I havent had time to test anything on this car, as its just guesswork for the next heat.

No. The joints are good. Theyre metal. I put tungsten balls in and replaced the thrust bearing with a budget one from RCMARKET.

For anyone that's interested, i'm selling this car as for the type of racing I use it for, its just not strong enough. The car is fantastic in handling, but even when I replaced the most of the cloned parts barring the top deck/bulkheads and chassis with Tamiya plastic parts, the car isn't strong enough for my liking, and i'd state this even if it was a real Tamiya 416WE. PM me if anyone is interested in making me an offer.

Are all clone 416 from the same factory? I found lots of shops sell this kit and price varies, and the pictures seem to be taken individually by shops.

Such shame for these clones. But you get what you pay for. The only thing I'm a bit weary is if and when these clones shows up as counterfeit, meaning, same box, same instruction sheet, as the Tamiya 416WE and even sold as such.

It would be a shame if that happens.

As much as I would like to see RC interest and user base grows, I don't believe in Socialism or Communism where these cars should have a price control and that EVERYONE deserves and RC car.

My multi-cultural background have taught me that you work hard in life in order to achieve and earn things honestly... Just because a Tamiya kit is $400+ doesn't mean that it's TOO expensive. There are lots of people with earning power that laughs at a $400 price tag...

If you can't afford the hard work, the blood, sweat, and tears, that went into designing, marketing, producing, distribution, of a beautiful piece of machinery such as the REAL Tamiya 416WE, you deserve a POS, clone...

I have nothing but reverence and respect for companies like Tamiya. I don't think they lost any market share because people who would buy clones and cheap copies would've never bought the real thing anyways.

Plagiarism sucks. Many industrial components are targetted for counterfeiting, and I hope Tamiya takes similar security measures for the end-user to be able to distinguish a genuine and non-genuine product.

Making 3rd party aftermarket parts that is similar in shape to the original is one thing, cloning an ENTIRE car is another.
