Btw...that is one heck of a body, I have to agree, TAMIYA body is definitely has its own advantage as long as you can handle those 2 big piece of decal (I never have that time to play with that things...way too many decals)

P.S.....you guys totally ignore the idea of RCGT....where are the TAIL PIPES? Not the Pep-boys one, we want to see those 6" Coffee can Size one...? No underbody lights? No hydralic suspenions with PS2 controller? No wide offset wire mesh rims? Nothing...?
As long as I beat you That should be pretty easy.
I do want to put a light kit on it.

Awesome pics Darkside.

The wing on that M3 actually looks like its a detriment to the performance of the shell. Looks like its picking up on the back end. Are you guys neutering the wings for this class?

Those pics are from our RCGT outing here in Palm Bay, Florida. We're actually running VTA but a lot of the guys love the scale appearance of the RCGT bodies so we're running those bodies and tires with the VTA motor/battery package.

Considering the size and layout of our track it's a great combo. A couple of us actually slowed the cars down to a 5.0 FDR and it made for excellent racing for everybody.

Regarding the wing, that's Evoracer's car and he was loose while exiting the turns. But he says he has other issues than just the wing so it's hard to say how much of a detriment it was.

My car is the blurry blue and silver C6. I ran just a few laps without the body while i was working on setup and thought it ran great without. I tried to run it without a wing and it was crazy loose. With the wing it seemed to push but i moved the mounting of the wing a half inch forward on the body and that seemed to get me close enough that i could use other options to tune out the push.

Those are spnger311's pics from the day. He and Evo may tell you that i was dialed in but i think the stickier pro-compound tires would have really nailed the setup vs. the d-compound tires i was using.

My latest -- the Tamiya 190mm Corvette C5R body done up in my usual color scheme.

I love the Tamiya bodies for their realistic detail as well as for the fact that they are 190mm bodies. I run all Tamiya chassis right now so they always fit perfectly for me.

Where are the "real" RCGT numbers coming from? I had to make my own using Photoshop but that Vette is the first one i've seen with the sticker other than the car on HPI's website.

Number sheets were made for the Speedtech RCGT Showdown points series -- we all had assigned numbers (of our choosing) and each received a strip of decals.

Looks cool - I've always loved the Tamiya C5R body

I gotta get a couple pics of my Altezza - and then a few pics of the other Altezza I got, well once it gets to the painter

I really wish I could get the locals to do that. I think its a great idea to mix up the body shell types while sticking to a "Streetable" look. Open up the Tires to any treaded D-compound. Open up the rims to any streetable look again. And stick with VTA power rules. I would even let the Genetics and club racer cars in. Call it Sports GT. Boom there it is! I would limit the wings though. Either no wing or it would have to be cut down to no more than like 5mm rise. It would pretty much just end up being a cosmetic wing.

After seeing these cars (it looks like touring cars circa 1995) I have to build one up with my 416. I got a Tamiya Supra body with a drift car I could do up SWEET!! I'll post pics when done

Orange and black are Reenmachine's "Dirla Colors". You can always tell him by them.

true.

It all came from liking the Camel Lotus F1 cars when I was a kid. The spray bomb I use is Tamiya "Camel Yellow". I think I'm going to switch the black out for the correct blue next time and see how it looks.
