I'm with Tha Beast, how does that front end work? I see no springs anywhere, and it looks like the upper arms move up and down, but the lower arms appear fixed. So how does it work and how is it dampened if there are no springs? If the lower arms are fixed, I don't see how those dampener tubes are able to do anything. Are they meant to take the place of front springs? Very confused!

Looks like the tube is mounted onto the inside of the upper arm triangle so as the upper arm moves up it pushes the tube in. Look at MikeR's pic and you'll see 2 silver points that look like screws for a underside ballmount.

Ok, but that is an add-on that MikeR did; how does the stock front suspension work on this car? I see no way that it is dampened at all!

The front spring is recessed in the lower front arm.

http://www.hpiracing.com/instructions/

Scroll down to the instruction manuals, and it'll be on page 16 of the manual, the car uses 12th scale front springs

I just finished the build of my F10 / Exotek car with the intent of this being my foam F1 car (I have a F104 rubber car as well). I've installed the HPI foam specific front knuckles and ball diff, again with the plan to run F103 foams on F103 style wheels.

I'm still waiting on my foam tires, so just to test it out I installed my F104 rubber wheels / tires. I didn't realize these would work, did I miss something ? So .... with these foam knuckles and diff I can run F103 and F104 wheels ? Foam or rubber for eiether ? What's the catch ? Have I missed something ? Maybe ride height issues with the F104 wheels (haven't played with that yet) ? Seems too good to be true .....

It's true- they fit on the HPI Foam Axle conversion. The catch is the HPI rubber super softs are way better than tamiya Softs
