Hey I want to run my LRP x12 17.5 boosted. What timing should I have on the motor? It's on -10 right now.

On the 10.5t the 4 dot comes std, but I run mine on 0 in boosted mode, then it all depends on what speed controller you are using and its settings.

If it is a Tekin RS/pro or HW 120A i can help, other speedos...sorry cannot

The esc is a Tekin RS.On the back of my motor the timing insert is tilted to the far right.

Same with me, but my part was shipped. The part is still in HK. 4 months no part my money is gone to. I ordered the same part from them but on Ebay.

I used Asiatees with no problem, they even look for feed back after delivery, this was the first time I bought things from them, they look sound to me, delivery was fast.

got steering and caster blocks but I do not like the little plastic pin holders (the one you screw a grub screw) it had a tendency to pull out if you screw too much, had to glue mine in place first.

If you open the plastic endbell (one screw) you can remove it and see what is the insert, to the right is 4 dots.

I would recommend a fan on top of motor too, X12 loves heat.

Give me your setup and I can direct you, I just help a fella with a 21.5t and he has improve a lot.

regards

Anyone know where i can get the small nuts that go into the chassis that the motor clamp bolts go into? I'm missing one. LHS didnt have ones that would fit, i tried taking a nut to a bench grinder to shrink it down but that didnt turn out so well,... AE doesnt list it on the parts explosion for the kit,.. does it come with a new chassis or can I get it separate?

Greetings. An alternative to your LHS, a computer store probably has the nut in-stock; it's a 4-40 nut and the computer store (ie Radio Shack) may have nuts without the nylon( a.k.a. a jam nut or non-locking). If you broght the
TC3 with you to the store , the sales person will get a better idea of what you need.Good luck.

unfortunately the nuts yall mentioned i think will be too big.

The factory nuts are realllly small. The thread is 4x40, but the overall diameter is smaller than the typical 4x40nut. The sliver nut on the right is one from the LHS, the gold lock nut is a nut from my losi, still too big to fit in the recess.

Tired grinding it down but just ended up butchering the nut,.

I'll try radio shack, or Ace Hardware. Hopefully they will have something. I'll report back if i find something!

Yes they are the right ones. Both Associated and Losi used a "mini" locknut in various places on their cars. This link, http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...rce=google_ext, is to the Losi ones which will work as well. I have 4 TC3s built and a couple more in spares and can verify they are the correct nuts. The standard size 4/40 nuts more commonly found are what is pictured above. Buy a pack because you'll want to have some extras around. They do "sneak" out unnoticed sometimes when working on motor adjustments.
