I know a lot of the San Diego regulars were planning on going up there. I was thinking about it but I've already driven 1:45 each way to So Cal twice this month and gas is getting a little on the expensive side.

What stock motor is the best to use in the TC3? i am thinking of the Team orion core, or the Trinity P2k2, i have owned a monster stock pro and thought that it was guttless, am i alone here or is the motor a fizzer?? Anyways, a straight out answer on which motor is the best would be greatly appreciated...Thanx

Your Monster Pro possibly was a bad seed in the bunch, but it all depends on the track size and layout which motor will benefit you the most. Tell us more about the track.

I race on a large open flowing track and the Lightspeed Stellar II (Trinity Monster) dominates.

Well, the straights i usually run on are about 80ft long and with tight infields. The monster stock just seemed like it had no torque or speed, just really sluggish, i want something thats going to take off well and give me a good top end speed.

I'm running the mosters now too, but you may want to try the Orions. I really liked them before I got my hands on the Monster.

I have a Monster that works well.

At the same time I bought it I also got a bad arm in a Chameleon II. Did a weird 2 speed thing and was really pokey for the only two times I tested it.

Sent it back to Trinity and in only 4 short weeks, got a new, trued arm in the same can.

Generally, good service, but slow and I had to pay to ship to NJ. At least only one way.

I'm running a 7.2 final (72/25). Last week I may have been able to go up a tooth but I was fairly happy with how it felt. One more may have gotten too hot.

Jeez 7.2??! Someone told me they run 7.35 and thats because they dont really loose to much speed in corners. And he recommended 7.4-5ish for me.

That's only one tooth if you're running 48 pitch. I could have run there but last time I was there, they had a couple of simi long streaches and I was able to run up on a few guys in the straight and through the sweeper.

I run my monster at socal at 100/35 which is 7.1 with no problems at all. Acually I got 2nd place last night and the motor felt good all night.

How do you like running 64 pitch gears on the TC3?

I run 64 and it works pretty good. I don't really notice much of a difference over 48 though.

I've also been using nothing but 64 pitch in mine since I bought it over 3 years ago. I don't think it offers any real performance advantage, but it does allow me to have more fine control over the final drive ratio(which is why I use 64 pitch in every car that I can)....

For my MVP I was using 37/100. For Monster, I was going to get a 33, but I'll probably get a 34 now. Not sure about 35 because of my driving habits...

I know some guys at socal are running 1 shield on the bearings. What about no shields?
