Tony > Nice racing at the Nats!! You and Sean were balistic!

When we had the carpet track in SoCal, 138g with Firm inserts was the hot set-up. They are the bomb for outside as well. No more carpet in SoCal, so i have not had the chance to try the Sorex.

i also have the nerf wings and they do save the rear arms. unfortunately, after a heavy crash, i broke one - the one on the motor side. actually, 2 other guys in our track broke theirs on the same side. (we're complete hacks ) are there any other brands of tc3 nerf wings? i think that it needs thicker material for more strength, especially on the part where the nerf wing angles. i think its too thin because that's where mine broke off.

marvi -- right on! We've used the BRP front and rear bumpers (not nerf wings) on our car and haven't broken an arm yet. I'm convinced that the front bumper especially has saved us a lot of trouble.

Default tweak board

Tony > Can you put designs on both sides of the tweak board you make? I would like a design on the front and on the back a set-up quide like on the Hudy set-up board. This would be sweet

Johnny > The equivalent would probably be the 36r. I know of people who have used the Yokomo Medium and Firm Insert with the Sorex. They said it was good.

I have only bought one pair and put in HPI Green. My next pair I am going to try the Yoks for outside. I think they are a little softer than the HPI Inserts.

Default Nitro TC3 suspension

Well, I'm sure it will come up sooner or later, but I'll ask anyways...

Those of you who have seen the NTC3 up close, how many suspension parts does it share with the electric version? What I'm wondering is can you take the shock towers and arm mounts and stuff off the NTC3 and put them on the electric TC3 and have pivot ball suspension? I know the Nitro is 200mm, but I'm not worried about width right now.

Cosmo

There are some pix on rcracing.com of Barry Baker's open a-main winning car at the Castle Classic race this past weekend. http://www.rcracing.com/Page.cfm?InfoID=1726

I only saw it on the track and all I can say is OH MY!! 96 laps in 25 minutes. The man is insane!

The only stuff that were obviously shared are the threaded body shocks and maybe the body posts. Other than that, it's a completely different car. I'd bet we see some of the new stuff trickle down to the next electric version.

Tony, or anybody else, I have a question

Last week I was a second off track record here, and that really got me thinking where can I shave alittle time off. Or track is pretty small and tight, a slow lap is 11 seconds. Right now I'm running around 10.7 but I'd like to shave about .1 seconds a lap off my times. I've thought about swapping out my blue CVD's for the ones that come in the racer kit, but I know some other people have had trouble in the past with them cracking, breaking, ect. I'm just kinda wondering if its worth all the trouble to swap them out for the chance that I might get that .1 second a lap.

I personally don't think it'll help that much. I would have to know a little more to really help ya out, like yer setup, what you think the car needs as far as handling, and what yer running (Mod or Stock). It may be as simple as a slight setup change to get the car to corner faster.

its stock, and I've never had a car feel so dialed in my life, I'm just diggin for that little .1 second a lap, you'd think it would be easier to find lol

The track is pretty wack, the tire of choice is 33r's with yokomo foam inserts, but I'm running sorex 28's with med inserts, GM3 geared 23/72, kit setup but with 50/30 oil, and 4 mm ride height. Car is just crazy planted, its so awesome that I made my factory team a backup car.

Well, if yer car is not in need of any handling adjustments, maybe it's time for more gear, or more battery!!!!!

Hmm. Looking at the pics, where the shock towers/arm mounts mount to the diff case, they look about the same as the electric version. That's what got me thinking about to begin with.

Anyways, if AE would hurry up and let me get one, I'd be able to find out for myself....
