Hi Guys. Greetings from Malta.
We started our Nats yesterday, with TC3s well and truely showing the way.
In mod my son Josh took the win, with another two TC3s in second and third.
In stock I got beat into 2nd place by a TC3.
Tony. In terms of touring cars I really don't think Associated need do much more than just keep improving the TC3. It's so good . It's winning everywhere, and people are now starting to copy it.
Perhaps triangulating the top suspension arms front and rear, like the IC cars would be a good idea to keep things from flexing so much, and stronger rear hubs, which are the car's weak point.
I have put some alloy rear hubs on my son's car, just to be safe. I have also triangulated the top front arms. Yet despite these mods the car still needed quite a bit of ballast to bring it up to the regulation weight limit.
We race again this coming Sunday.

rear shock tower in front.
We finally got the updated front a-arms. And I am trying to setup my tc3 with the rear towers in front and the new arms. i have not been able to set the ride height below about 6mm. What could I be doing wrong?

no, did not shim. thought if I used the new arms woudl not have to change the roll center.

Is there any advantage to running the Losi rear hubs?

theisgroup: Mount the shocks in the outer hole on the arm. This should allow you to lower the car.
Shimming the shock tower would work, but you are correct. You will raise the roll center.
spongebob: Running the Losi rear hubs also allows you to make minor toe-in adjustments. I think, if I'm not mistaken, you can make 1/2 degree increments.

Overweighted TC3 Racer

My racer kit is always overweighted, the lowest I could get it to is 1550gr. I have Ti turnbuckles, Ti Hingepins, light front and rear diff outdrives, I use a Cyclone TC and a XXL rceiver, and a Hitec 605, and as batts 2400s and 3000s. I know that the 2400s are a little heavier than the 3000s but still the car is heavy. I took of the heat sink clip and the RPM bumper. I was wondering about buying a whole graphite kit to install in my racer, does anyone know how much weight would I be able to save with the AE graphite kit?

Hey Tony,
Congrate on the new job.
I have the shock mounted on the outer hole of the tower and the outer hole of the arm. Am still at about 6 mm. I have also noticed that when I have the shock on the outer hole of the new arm, the spring seems to rest on the C-hubs.

TONY. Jorge's TC3 is th Racer kit. It is usually above the 1500 gram weight limit.
You are right about the graphite ones, the Team and FT. They are usually way under.
So Yes Jorge, go for the graphite kit, then you'll be under too.
The Take Off moulded inserts are fairly heavy, but they do work well.

Im looking for information. I know associated sells two kinds or more of TC3's. There is a TC3 plain and a TC3 version with all the Hop-ups from the factory. What is the name of that version if I wanted to buy it? Is it the team car?
