LATC3

I know that since this is the FIRST ever 'ISC' Insane Speed Run on a Closed Course, and the guys at the 'ISC' are hoping to make this an annual event... ALL "Unique" classes will have a record at the end of this event.

So, you just MIGHT indeed be able to set the record as the "FASTEST" Mini Cooper officially!

just a little HISTORY on the Encino Velodrome (For those who don't or didn't know)

The Encino Velodrome is a 250 meter, high banked bicycle race track. 250 meters is about 820 ft. in the race groove.

R/C Cars have been running on the track in Encino since 1988 (21 years now) and the ENCINO VELODROME was the Original home of one of RC's biggest EVER events of that time...the RCThunderdrome

Here's a little of that history...a YouTube video of some Encino Velo, and the later Dominguez Hills Velo (that was also in SoCal...)

I am a Brit that is just about to move over to Virginia Beach for a couple of years with work and if anyone over there does this sort of thing locally to VA, please let me know. I remember watching RCThunderdrome on a video years ago and always wanted to have a go at an Insane Speed Run! Totally awesome.

wingman

The insane run held in Japan at the WORLDROME is on the same physical size track as the ENCINO Velodrome... It's much wider and smoother, and I've been told that at the 2008 event held about 6 months ago - they actually TOPPED 100 MPH (Not KPH)

At leat TWO racers from JAPAN will be at this event, and we've already received their entries...so this WILL truely be an 'INTERNATIONAL' affair!

We dont have any ISR or velo racing that I know of in the Va beach area but there is a little oval contingent that meets at Debbie's RC World in Chesapeake, VA

Sounds like it would be a good time... I haven't raced on a velo in a few years.

Unfortunately I couldn't afford a trip to Cali.

Adam,

While this event will NEVER be a "Snowbirds" or an old RCThunderdrome size event, I am growing it every year.

I haven't really targeted the SHOOTOUT part of this event toward racers outside of our Series - ALL are always welcome to participate.

We do once again have drivers coming from JAPAN to race with us, plus some from out of state who will be running in the INSANE SPEED RUN portion of the event.

THE Racing will be VERY TIGHT this year in the 20 car MAIN events!

maybe sometime, when you are out of school and looking to travel the country!!

(BTW - I think some were skeptical when you left the KSG car for the CeFX car - but so far, it looks like you've done well..and the TP power hasn't hurt either!!)
