It is a bit easier for us to determin what kind of rollout you have to start with.
So how many turns motor?
Are you allowed to run timing?
Are you running rubber or foam?
What spurs and pinions do you have?
What is the track like?
Tech track? high speed track
All these questions have effect on how to use the Tekin.

I read the N/T as no timing.

Just picked up an F104 Pro on the for sale forum. Any suggested parts to keep in stock? It has a cracked Tbar plate, is the white fiberglass one the right part? I thought they came with a carbon fiber Tbar plate but I cant find a part number anywhere

Oops my mistake.
If you have to use the stock gears like the 104 and 93 spurs then start with a rollout of 45.
Temp the motor every 3 or 4 minutes to check it.
Never let the motor go about 70 degrees celcius as it tend to fade a bit and you loose a bit of brake and torq.
If it stays cold work your way up to rollout of 50(keep checking the temp)
We drive with a 23T brushed motor the same rollout on most tracks as starters and work our way from there.
If the motor is to powerfull out of the corners, give it a bit more mechanical timing so the rev's goes up and the torque a bit down.
This give you a bit more top speed but it drives better out of the corners.
Rubber on carpet i haven't got a clue with F1 as we drive foam.
It all depends if you have to use the Tamiya rubber or not.

I just bought some front ride wheels and tires for my 104 and both fronts are rubbing on the kingpins on the bottom at the c clip! Has anyone come across this issue? Sucks to have to grind away at a brand new set of wheel that are suppose to fit.

Adjust the front ride height with the spacers and you should be fine.

Yeah Well worth the money... the roll damper is like 20 bucks anyway so who really cares !?!?!

I've jsut removed the heavy pivot post, gone back to the standard alloy one, and ive gone the softest front springs i could find. will see how it goes on Sunday.

For the money they should fit. Sacrificing a tuning option to get them to work is just not right. Trusty dremel to the rescue. Smoothed out ready to roll.

hi, i have a pretty stupid question, but new to formula one cars, which wheels do i use to mount the sponge tires, all the tamiya wheels at my local hobby shop are for rubber tires, and having a hard time to find tires that will work with the sponge tires, please help, i bought the f104 x1, and sponge tires, i believe they are standard size and not the wide ones, thanks

GP Speedtires sells a complete set, as in rim with foam glued and trued for the F104.
Exceed has them to i believe?

Ok so i took out the heavy pivot post and the car runs AWESOME !!! on our track which id describe as medium grip bumpy ashphalt, and my ususal tamiya medium rears with tamiya hard front rubber tyres the car was awesome. I ususally do 22 second laps with the odd 21 second lap. Today i did consistent 21 seoncd laps with a few high 20 second laps in there as well...

I think the rolling damper adds some predictability to the car which allows you to improve your consistency.

Why does my f104 ferrari make sounds when i turn particularly right? It sounds like its coming from the spur gear and the pinion gear. Im using a 93 Spur Gear and a 30 Pinion Gear. I hit a wall and then it started to make the sound. I rebuilt the diff. Any Ideas?"?
