If I order the Spur gear spacer from Tamiya this will allow me to run 48p spur gears correct? What spur gears would work and what tooth count would I want to get?

If it weren't for lipos, you'd still see 12L4s with damper plates out there going as fast as anything .
I see what you're saying, for F1 perhaps it's overkill, and opinions vary, but as for 12th scale, the Link Style cars have proven to be superior in most conditions, certainly on high grip carpet.
Even back when they used 4-cell.

Depends on the FDR u desire... personally I'm currently running a 75t for the Tamiya Sports Tuned Motor Class, but I also have in my kit a 72t & 65t.

No doubt link cars are excellent. I just have seen t bar cars be just as fast. A guy I race with out here got 2nd in stock at the 2008 carpet nats with an L4, which was pretty much the end of the line for that car.

That being said, there have been plenty of t bar cars with side dampers instead of discs. It's probably better, but I just have a hard time believing it's something to buy a new kit for

Just finished up the body on my F-104. I am still waiting on a few things but can't wait to get this car out on a track.

Default Which of these two ESC's?

Hi,
I want to buy the F104 Vodafone McLaren and am trying to work out which ESC of these two to go for

MOPED Electronic Speed Control ESC V16R (Bravo) ESC
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-bru...o-p-16386.html

or

Tamiya (#45041) ESC TEU-104BK - ESC
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-bru...k-p-29775.html

I'll just run the silver can that comes with car so just need a basic ESC to go with it.

Thanks for your help.

of the 2, i'd suggest the Tamiya one - its lipo friendly (ie, low voltage cut-off) that the MOPED one doesn't have...i have both, and the Tamiya is great - never ran the MOPED, but a little hesitant nowadays because of the no lipo cut-off...i'd hate to run the change of being out there too long and forgetting its my ONLY speedo with no cut-off

The Tamiya TEU104-BK doesn't have a lipo cutoff, it has a LiFe cutoff for use with Tamiyas own LiFe batteries as they don't sell lipo packs, which means the cutoff is around 4 volts and is way too low for Lipo batteries.

Hi I always wonder what these bodies are with the extended wing across the back.
Canyou please confirm what this one is. I would like to recreate a mp4-25.

i've used the TEU104 last summer at a 24 hour enduro - and those were used BECAUSE of the voltage cut-off (we all ran lipo)...and I've got one in my tt01 specifically because of the voltage cutoff

per tamiya usa's site:

The Tamiya TEU0104BK is a compact forward/reverse Electronic Speed Controller. The TEU-104BK is equipped with a battery cut-off function to prevent over-discharging of the battery and is compatible with LF batteries.

Specs
Size: 39.4x36.5x15mm. Weight: 47g.
Input voltage: 6.6-7.2V.
Can be used with Sport Tuned Motors (Item 53068) and 25T and above motors.
Battery voltage cut-off function can be disabled.

Thanks but from the tamiya website pics the body doesn't seem to include the extended engine cover fin that most cars had in 2010. Am I wrong?

"LF" doesn't stand for LiPo
