The one feature the 3racing diff boasts is that you apparently don't need to take off the wheel and the hub to set the diff. The outtuned diff has a little threaded bit close to the motor mount that you hold and then turn a wheel and it looosens and tightens the diff. It's honestly never really worked for me. The 3racing diff is also of much lower quality than the tamiya one. The alloy is softer, and of the 2 3racing diffs i bought, only of the diff plates fits perfectly on diff housing, the rest of them are out a little, not a lot, but it's not as perfect a fit as the tamiya diffs are every time.

Hello, new to the F1 cars, but just picked up an F104 Pro Black Edition and have a question. I'm sure it's been discussed somewhere in the couple of hundred of pages before this, but I am not finding the info I'm looking for.
I'm looking for lipo's that fit within the stock battery compartment. I found a YEA racing 4000mah pack that fits great (with a little top plate nothch for the plugs), but am looking for something with a little more capacity. Anyone have a suggestion?
Also, just wanted to say; I haven't put together a Tamiya kit for about 20 years, and they haven't changed a bit. They produce absolutely the best instruction manuals in the business. I love the 1:1 drawings of all the little screws and bits. This could have gone together just off the diagrams, without them printing a single word in the manual. And the car! Built to instruction specs and out to the track without any tweaking and the thing was awesome. Steering is dead on and responsive as you could want and the rear is planted. This is an awesome car. Now to find some competition in central Pa...

I broke mine in the b-final of our local track cup on saturday and noticed no impact at all. The smallest mistake of your driving has lot more impact than this piece of plastic in the rear of the car...

Ahahahah glad to see im not the only one who believes that aerodynamics do bugger all at 60kph. Just for shits and giggles at a race on carpet one night i took off the rear wing completely for a race. I actually went faster and the car felt better to drive. Only reason i put it back on was because on the f109 (my carpet car) the spur is un protected without a wing and i dind't want to get shunted from behind and chew up a spur on the first lap.

Diffusers actually work if they are fairly large. I made one, ran it-which stuck the car enough that you could use all the steering it had- and removed it during the same battery. When I removed it, the car was looser and actually steered less since the dual rate had to be turned down. Two other guys at the tracked were watching and even ran the car a few laps, agreeing with what I saw.
That being said, the F104 diffuser is too small to do anything. They also have to be as low to the track as possible.
