InZane,

Thanks for the compliment!

I like your works on the F104, and I'm sure it will handle much better than the stock setup as the rolling weight is now on the sides, and promotes healthy rolling and even weight-distribution.

I have since cut out the winglet on my F104, and am waiting for Saturday to come for me to test my car. My car has the same problems as many of you guys here that experienced the straight highspeed spinouts. Thought it was my setup, but no.

Has anyone here tried using the 3Racing Wings Set for F103 on his F104?

Especially from you Vyger, you've inspired my work and set everyone's standard with your beautiful F104. I also owe other members like Alfie and robk for many good ideas.

I'm doing my first track tests this week and I'm a bit worried about the lack of rear flex. Side to side feels OK but up & down it's really stupid stiff (no wonder it's a handful in high speeds). I think it's one of the design flaws of the F104 (the asymmetric post is another) that the pivot point is to far back. I'm planning to move it to the front of the pivot post instead of behind it. This way the side to side movement will not be affected just the up&down. If I need to make it stiffer I can just change to a harder shock spring (white, yellow or blue). What I need to do is to make a carbon plate for the nut and drill a new hole in the T-bar 7-8mm in front of the old one (see pic).

@MikeR - yes I'm sure you liked the Exotek stickers. Why not produce a saddle pack conversion kit for the F104 with real pivot balls from AE.

That's funny. Apparently, my bud was on Zen F103 rear wing and it was on rails!

I only have the 3Racing wings set with me now, so that's all I can use to test out the F104.

What are the handling differences between the cutout winglet on the rear section of the F1 body, and without the cutout.

Check here - http://www.rctech.net/forum/6045516-post424.html. Base measurement is without cutout. The first result is with the cutout. It seems there is a little bit more rear downforce with the cutout.

Is there another option other than Kawada for a truer arbor fitting the F104 wheels?

I can't seem to find anything other than Kawada which has been sold out at Ddrive for awhile.

Thanks for the heads-up! I sort of lost the link.

Yeah, it does ring a bell. My buddy had his winglet cutout.

It could be because of the aeros that shortened the "chassis' wheelbase" without the cutout, hence making the car even more erractic to on the straights. It also defeats the use of the rear wing without the cutout.

I'll try it this weekend.

The 2008 wings. There's only 1 set produced by 3Racing for F103. Were you running with that?

I'm alittle skeptical about all this areo thing on the F1. Provided you making a certain speed for all that to work.

How much difference does it make?

I haben got any issues with stock setups.. but myabe i was on a slow motor.

I have no problem with turn in etc just very unstable in a straight line. I'm running Tamiya B's at the front with A's rear as it's great on the infield

Everyone seems to be having trouble with the car running a straight line under hard acceleration. What motors are you guys running? I know a couple have mentioned 5.5 turn brushless. I will be running a 17.5 brushless at the Tamiya USA track. Anyone having these problems with 17.5 or silver/black can motors?
