Andy, in my own experience, there is potentially more grip since the weight bias is shifted rearward. However, that's with the F104Pro, not the WGP.

Same as PDR but not potentiall, there is more grip when putting the shorty to the rear.
If you lack steering you can move it to the front, so you get more traction there.

What I found was there was as much grip in the rear as using a full sized heavier battery but the steering response greatly improved.

These were my times when all I did was switch from a full sized lipo to the shorty lipo.

21.480 with full sized battery
20.876 with shorty lipo

what surface are you running on? foam or rubber? i run rubber tire on low grip ashfelt and find the gold spring the most consistant. tho have read the black gets the most nods. personal preference i guess

I'm using tamiya rubber tyres on asphalt. I notice when I accelerate down the straight that the front end appears to bounce, not sure if that's just due to the fact that it gets lighter under acceleration.

EDIT: Thanks kneedeeppow, appreciate the reply

like i am running the tamiya tires. my local track is developing some nasty bumps and the front of the car gets unsettled at speed when using the black springs. the silver were to soft and the car got the mad sway on going down the straights really easily. gold spring with a drop of shock oil on the kingpin where it goes thru the low friction thingys using tamiya soft front and rear and sometimes the hard front medium rear for a very even front/rear grip feel

Anyone know where to get the F104 aluminum black motor mounts? I knew I should have bought a set a few months ago! I know Square makes a black set but I prefer the Tamiya version.
