What is the Best traction compound for the pit tires at the Tamiya track?

Tell ya next Sunday nite if it works ok?

Alright, we've been running the Pit, uh, TCS type tires for a long time now and Buggy Grip is the sauce of choice for most.
Tire Tweak is also a good one but is best if time allows it to sit.

hey
Im going to be doing some f1 racing at my outdoor asphalt track. 540 silver can setup, what im wondering is which kit to get? The standard kit seems ok but it does not include alloy diff housing which i am after because people are saying every time you take the wheel off on the diff side of the car you lose your diff adjustment? im not to sure about that, Or is the f104W worth a go.
we race on a fairly low traction bumpy track, i drove a f104x1 today and it performed beautifully on our track, it seemed the guys with the 104 pro and the pro v2 found it harder to get the car to hook up
any help will be greatly apreciated
thanks

If you want a F104 and rubbers i think you have 4 great options:

F104X1(designed for rubbers in mind) Tested
F104 ver II Not tested
F104 +Roche Rapide conversion (very good with rubbers slim carbon design) Tested
F104 +Exotek F1R conversion Not tested

As long as I know all these have alloy diff housing.

Switched my F104ProX1 to wide and its basically a GP now. I want to be able to adjust my front ride height like the GP so i was thinking about upgrading to the adjustable metal uprights that come with the F104w GP. Does anybody know the lowest and highest ride height you can get with the adjustable metal uprights running Schimizu front tires????
Thanks for any further information

The kits which lose the diff adjustment when removing the rear right wheel are those that use the F103 diff. These are any F103 kit and the standard F104. All F104 Pro kits use the F104 diff and don't have this problem. This includes the F104 Pro, the X1, the W GP, and the v2. The X1 is a beautiful car as is the v2.

A key factor when starting out is to have others at your track using the same kit with success. If they are willing to share their setup then you can build your car knowing that it will hook up. You also have someone who can assist you with troubleshooting. If the X1 is hooked up and those with the Pro and v2 are not it doesn't make those cars any less worth having (as they will hook up with the right set up) but if the guy with the X1 has done the hard work and is happy to share then it will make your entry into this fantastic class a smooth one

The F104 Pro X1 was a Limited Edition so when you see one snap it up!

The middle setting with F103 Schimizu tires is about 5mm ride height,
I havnt used the low or high setting with the adjustable uprights, but ill measure tonight.

measured the shims and they are 1mm, so ride height range will be 4-6mm

Beth.

Practically the same except original F104X1 has FRP chassis which has more flexion than F104Pro carbon fiber.
