anyone know or have experience with grooved Pits Shimizu's

PS-0563 FRONT, MEDIUM, R3
PS-0565 REAR, SOFT

i was wondering how would the grooves affect the compound, say if i was to get the same in slick form?

PS-0573 FRONT, MEDIUM, F1-M
PS-0575 REAR, SOFT, R1

Default which is the best kit to run carpet with tamiya rubber tire

Guy...I'm new with F1 racing...
I need your opinion on which tamiya kit should I buy for competing in tcs
Most of the time f1 will be running on carpet using tamiya rubber tire...

So should I buy f140 rpo, f140 wgp or the new f104 v2?

Thanks for all the help

Just got the 3racing wing set for f104. The front wing needs mods to fit, and body post location is wrong but when I get next body I´ll drill the hole for body post to suit the wing.

So for now I only use the rear wing. Just got it painted and tested on track.

(rear comes with diffusor, but the stock diffusor needs to be dremeled out to fit it. -or use the 3racing one piece t bars.) -I left the 3racing diffuser in the bag for now.

That thing(rear spoiler) gives so much downforce that the car wont turn in the fast corners if the wing is at max setting. Lowest and middle works well.

Short clip, also tested the new onboard cheapo 808#11 ebay camera.

-Nice crash at the end.

today the best tires were Pit shimzu 571&572 , allthough it was a warm day and the tires got maybe too hot, sides started to rip a bit , and it was first run on these tires.Ca fixed it and on saturday we have our first official race.

Shimizus 0571/0572 is at the moment the best combo for onroad I have used, better than 0573/0575 for me, Ambient temp: 25 C. I also noticed very good results with additive without using warmers today.

I would go with the V2 if I were getting one now.

i am running the same esc/motor and find the yeah racing 4000mah 2s lipos work well. they dont have the biggest c rating sure but have plenty of power they are rounded stickpack so there is no issue with fit

Anything else I should look out for? This my is first time running F1 so want to make sure I have everything in order.

My setup will be

Tekin RS
Tekin 21.5
Futaba Low Profile Servo

Tire recommendations? Additional pinions I need? I would like to start racing with it soon.

tires depend on what track surface your running on mate. the shimizu tires sound like the ducks nuts so far,i am sure cuda and the boys will chip in here with the hot ticket as for car set up you can read what everyone recommends.take all of it and one by one try various things and you will find out what works for you. rcf1blog http://www.youtube.com/user/rcf1blog/videos is the guru in my opinion
surely some of your local racers can help you out with the local scoop for tires and tips. once your up and running you will love it,rc f1 rules

Thanks!

I am looking to get the Venom 2s lipo designed for Tamiya vehicles? I was also looking at the reedy 20c round pack. Good choice?

Also I noticed in the youtube video he is using a shorty 60c lipo. Is this too much power?

they use shorty packs as a weight distribution aid. it gets the weight over the back of the car for better traction from what i read. i have not tried it personally but it does make sense.
as for power....you can never have to much lol
