Rumor has it that Tamiya is working on their own version of the 3Racing FGX with fully independent suspension and rear wheel drive.

If it's true, I can't wait to see it! Tamiya has always led the way in making their on-road rc cars very scale realistic. Now with 3Racing offering a fully independent suspension rwd car, and HPI developing one, and now the rumor that Tamiya is too, should help determine the direction that rc F1 is going to take in the future. I for one welcome it, and say: It's about time!!

Thing is, if Tamiya release one you know it'll be finished, unlike the slightly half backed FGX... that car was simply rushed to the market without proper testing..

I killed it last night. 11.1 second laps, mod does 10 flat. If i didnt crash so much i'd have given the sportsman class a good run for their money.

Mind you, i run pretty much a F104W. F104 totally standard with f103 front arms and Xceed foam f103 tyres, the thing kicks ass.

TryHard, I agree. If Tamiya builds such a car it WILL be done right! 3Racing did rush the FGX to market too soon, without proper testing. Had they done so, they would have caught the faults in the cars design and build. They are now trying to fix the problems with the FGX. It is a good basic platform that is flawed, but can be made much better. Troy from McKune Designs is doing a great job on improving the FGX with his chassis and suspension parts. Others like Mantis Worx are also working on aftermarket parts to improve the FGX. It's a shame that other companies are doing a better job with the FGX than 3Racing is. But I still applaud 3Racing for daring to build such a car as the FGX.

I don't think that Tamiya will make the same mistakes; they won't release the car till it is properly tested and sorted out. It will likely be a winner right out of the box!

Either way, the future of rc F1 is looking bright!

I hope so. RC F1 is really all that interests me right now. I would love to see multiple fully independent suspension cars. Now if others around me would join in.

CROSS, I'm having the same problem where I live in Upstate New York. Plenty of rc car racers at the local track, but very little interest in F1. Just myself and a few others.

It's all we can do to get enough guys for pan or touring car roadcourse racing, as this is dirt oval and NASCAR country up here, unfortunately. And to these guys, F1 is like from another planet and they just don't get it. One of the biggest carpet racing classes here is short course trucks. Seriously! That is what I'm up against!

I feel like I'm in Hooterville from the old Green Acres show.

Just to let everybody know, if you have any F201 tires, or your hobby shop does, Ride F104 rims fit these tires perfectly. We figured this out tonight.

These guys have a bunch of sets of A's and B's in stock...

Too bad the F201 tires suck.

My F201 is undrivable with brushless power.
