Okay daft question, but fairly new to f1. For those that are running stumpy 7.4v lipo's on foams, running on carpet,are you running your battery forward or as far back as you can?

You should start with it in the back and work forward a little at a time till the car feels good to you. Weight transfer and driving style are different for each racer but its definetly a tuning tool. Just my 2 cents.

I was posting picture with my setup a few pages ago so sorry for the same picture again but...

Plastic camber plate position 2
Tamiya hard foams in the front, dia. aprox. 57mm
Tamiya soft foams in the back, dia. aprox. 61mm
Battery in the back but with aprox. 3mm foam spacer for better access to connectrors
Front ride height 4mm, rear ride height 6mm

Car feels very very good!

Every f1 does not use foam tires. Many clubs only allow rubber tires. Rubber tires is all we allow locally.

In the UK the 200mm cars with Foams are by far and away the most popular platform.

In the USA it seems the slower 180mm rubber class is the most popular.

Also appears European countries are also all for the 200mm Foam cars, also appears pretty popular in Japan.

i've never saw pre-mount pits except for Speedtech..i'm kinda believing that's something they are doing special for their customers...

and they are probably out of stock because of the availibility of the tamiya foam rims

mounting pit tires is not as difficult as it may seem - i was surprised it was way easier then i initially thought

I didn't see any pre-mounts there...just a combo set of wheels and tires with no mention if they are glued or not.

One of the bigger onroad series in Europe (ETS) is starting a F1 class, with 180mm and rubber. http://ets.redrc.net/rules

Just received some of the TRG front hubs for the 104... they look awesome. Can be both trailing and inline, and also raise lower the axle, meaning I might be able to acheive a front rideheight lower than 6mm with Ride tyres now, sweet! Bit pricey, but top quality Time to start fiddling this evening

I was able to get down to 4mm with the stock knuckles and could have gone lower if I wanted to.

Those knuckles look really nice...looks like it might lower the ball stud a little bit making getting the right steering angle right without rubbing on the upper or lower arm.

Hey guys, having an issue with my 104Pro... I replaced the rear tyres as the old ones were poked and now the car is handling so so poorly!
I got the same foams again, however this time I glued them rather then doubleside taped them.
Car used to have more understeer then anything which made it easy to throw into corners and no issues with the rear end sliding out.
Now it oversteers a lot! Try to put any power down going round the corner and it ends up facing the wrong way!
I've tried tightening the screw for the t-bar, loosing it right off, slowed the steering right down and the turning angles etc trying to combat this oversteer issue...
I'm running hard front foams and soft rears and they have always been on the money.
Does anyone have any suggestions to get the car closer to understeer?
