It is in no way a night and day thing. I like the side damper, but again, it's not something that will make or break the car.

The pro car chassis might be stiff compared to an X1, but that is more a rubber tire consideration. Even then, the separated upper deck is not very expensive.

I suggest you get the steel rear axle. World of difference for rubber on asphalt in our track.
I also have the pro black edition and have replaced the carbon axle with a titanium one. I've also placed the titanium horizontal cylinder that holds the upper and lower front wishbones together at the wheel. I have no issues with the F104 Pro so far but I'm really intrigued with the great feedback the X1 is getting from drivers. It's just a question for me of which has the greater potential.

We'll see. I've already posted ads on the buy and sell section. Can you share your baseline setup for asphalt for the F104 Pro?

However, for past few weeks reading through this forum, the X1 seems to be getting tons of great feedbacks.

I like the X1 a lot, since I got it, the other 104 that I had, which was a FRP chassied Pro has been sold, and my original Pro is in the process of being a showcar/ photography car. Keep in mind the guy that smoked us all at the TCS nats this year was not running an X1 and he was wicked fast

Austin is the same guy that smoked the field as a sportsman in the Expert vs. Sportman Shootout on foams a couple years back at Tamiya. Guy can wheel.

Tamiya F1 Setup

Btw, what radio controller are you using? As important as the car itself...

I'm using a FS GT3 2.4 ghz controller. basically a budget buy. Maybe I'll upgrade if I see it causing me lap times.

Hi,

I've raced my F104Pro against EuroGT/Pro10 cars yesterday. Don't question that! I know the cars aren't compareable.

After three 5 min. runs my spur (Tamiya #54055) got fried by my 29T pinion. Both are module 0.4 and are installed properly. What I noticed is that the spur could move ca. 0.5 mm in each direction of the carbon fiber axle (left/right not from or to the pinion). But the diff itself was fine and has no backlash. Is the spur not a appropriate one for the car. I use it just because it hast 96 teeth and can hold 12 diff balls. What could cause the damage of the spur??

The motor is a Corally 17,5T (red) and the esc is a Speed Passion Cirtix Club Cace as it ist specified in the EuroGT ruselset.

regards
stefan

Default tire help please

I'm running an X1 and want to get ride tires, our track is high bite indoor asphalt! I see they have S compound and H, what is the difference? Thanks for any help.

Get pit shimizu 571 and 572 if you want rubber for f104!
The names are confusing using a hard rear and soft front. But the rear is way stickier than the front soft.
They balance up real well with good grip!

I'd say my Pro is right in the mix with the X1's at this point.

Can you post your F104 Pro setup sheet as a reference starting point? I was told I can use Kimborough spur gears but they told me I need to use some type of spacer? Anyone know where to get the spacer? Trying to find the perfect rollout as i'm new to F1 and don't want to destroy a motor.

If I figured properly my roll out with 21.5 is 65mm. And you can get the spur gear adaptor at tqrcracing.com hope this helps.
