That is a lot of gear for a silvercan, especially if you are on rubber tires which have a large dia.

Normally you would gear a silvercan based on temp, buy a temp gun.
Try not to let it go over 200f, 150f is optimum after 5m.

10 to 15m runs with todays lipos are easy to do on the rug, but not so good for silvercans, maybe a practice motor & race motor is a good idea.

All silvercans are not the same, not even close to the same.

21.5 blinky is so much nicer.

I blew my silvercan last night, hit 200degrees and cooked the comm. Between the high traction and the foams wearing down, it was bound to happen. Car was super fast though lol. There is definatly a variability in the motors. With that said, what is a good conservative rollout to start with for silvercans? We are running on foams.

Don't be a pussy, when i save up the funds a 10.5t is going straight in !!!! I'mm gonan take off when i hit the elevated corner before the back straight.
Got my parts by the way... installing tonight/tomorrow and will be all set for sunday. You racing sunday?

Installed.

F104Pro with pretty much every alloy hop up you can get for them... except alloy knuckles. This car has not missed a single beat. Running 3racing wing set, boosted 17.5 turn setup, tamiya wheels and tyres, 60g weights on each side pod, just installed heavy pivot post and rolling damper and split top deck. Also got the counter weight but have not installed yet.

And yes my front tyres are knackered :P

Hey Lorddude,

Did you see the video of the IIC F1 race in Vegas?

You might wanna consider mounting your transponder up front cuz if Hiro had his back where you have yours he would have lost that spot, at least electronically.
I had a race go that way, I crossed the line in second but my transponder was up front and the other guy's was further back. We all knew he crossed first though but the computer saw it the other way.

actually what is the purpose of adding 60g for both side ??? to make it more roll ??? will it becomes more oversteer if more roll ??? it's a bit comfuse.........

secondly, do we need to add more weight on radio side in order to compensate the ESC+wires(eg. 80g on radio and 60g on ESC) ???

the weight gives the handling characteristics of an f103 where the weight is distributed along hte width of the chassis. It was recommended in this thread a few pages back, and it works really good at my track.

Balancing a car is overrated :P

Tamiya's David Jun has even recommended putting weight up high in the airbox on the body of the F104, less weight up hi to get the same results as more weight down low.

Offroad buggies been adding weight to the top of their trans to get this effect too.

thanks mate. i will be racing next time im home i hope my gear there waiting for me when i arrive home
i found the 17.5 motor easier to drive i could use the power better alothough the 13.5 is good

Yeah i did read that by david jun but had no clue what he meant by the air box :P

Cheers for the transponder advice too, i'v always been wondering about it i jsut haven't bothered to move it :P

The part number has the size in it ie BA1060 is a 10x6 bearing. In any case:

10x5x4 4 Bearings - Front Wheels
10x6x3 2 Bearings - Drive shaft
12x8x4 2 Bearings - Inside diff (only one needed if you dont run stock spur gear)
11x5x4 1 Bearing - Inside diff
