There are ways to get enough rear grip on many surfaces with the straight axle...it just isn't the easiest route to go...having IRS makes it much easier. But it is still possible with the stock direct drive as well.

i have found just running the heavy battery weight has made a huge differance in the traction.

no argument there but you will not get as much grip as an IRS car, especially in bumpy/loose conditions. i have TONS of experience with PAN chassis, if you look at my website you will see that my specialty is hi level mini-z so trust me when i say there is no comparison between the two. i would imagine that on carpet/foam tire the gap would be closer but on rubber and any asphalt game over!

as mantis said before. Its not that IRS is faster than pod, its that its easier to make fast.

The Asphalt Assault round at Al's Hobbies ......
Who's going?
Looks like I'll be able to go after all. Looking foreward to concentrating on F1 this time.
Try and get this thing going good.

Would be nice if they make the F105 with IRS and pushrod front suspention too

Stopped by a local RC shop in Tokyo and the F104x1 will be released here on July 16th according to the shop manager. US should see it around the first of August. I want one....

That is the exact front end setup I wanted to try, including Xpress caster link hardware. Beautiful job
