Spindle Shaft - thick diff grease
Spring - black (hard)
Ride Height - 6.5mm
Steering Throw - maximum
Rear: (everything kit set except)
Droop - 2.0mm (5mm spacer in shock)
T-plate Tension - 1xO-ring & very loose
T-plate Type - High Traction plate
Friction Plate Lube - 15wt shock oil
Friction Plate - teflon covered
Friction Plate Tension - 2mm
Shock Oil - 20wt
Shock Spring - HPI copper (8lb)
Ride Height - 6.5mm
Axle - steel
Diff Grease - associated stealth (black writing on tube)
Diff Tension - as loose as possible without slipping. (Critical setting)
General
Esc - Tekin RS
Servo - Airtonics 94851 (12th scale micro) kicked up at angle to reduce bumpsteer
Motor - Speed Passion 21.5
Battery - IP4200 LiPo
Tires - Tamiya kit (frt & rr mediums I think they are)
Traction - FXII full frt & rr baked 60deg C, for 15min before race.
Ambient - 27 deg max
Track - asphalt, technical.
The tire selection & balance is the most important, the next is the diff tension. It's a pain to adjust as it's got to be done on the track, but once set correctly you will gain max grip from ur rear tires.
Hope this helps....

foam tire questions
This may sound kinda silly but I picked up the front foams yesterday, rears are still on the way, and I dry fitted them on the rims just for kicks, all tamiya stuff. The tires seem a bit small for the rims, maybe 1/4 or so not wide enough? Do they need to be stretched out, all the part numbers were right, and the tape that comes with the tires has a white wax paper backing thats easy to peel back but does the other side have a clear plastic backing?
I'm assuming its two sided tape but I cant seem to see how to get the other side off or even see it. Like I said, seems silly to ask but maybe you guys CA them on? Wanted to ask before I make a mess.

The tires are usually a little narrow.

blog and info
Oh man Rob, I love all the info on your blog, I will be spending hours on it now. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
I see your front foams dont quite make it to the edge on the inside if you make it flush to the outside. You would think someone would have caught that by now LOL!!
I know what you mean by not getting the tire glued in the middle and truing them later and getting a gap in the middle. That happenned to a brand new set of Jayco 12scale tires a few months ago, big waste of $15, and what the heck do you do with one good tire? Will have to glue my rear tires on the morning of race day, hope they will have enough time to set up before racing.
Hope I wont suck too badly, will also be running my mini and GT2 car ( TA05 ) in a TCS race this sat near London Ont. thanks again JoeD.
