Independent Rear Suspension from the look of the photo. Pretty cool.

Will be quite awesome if it incorporates IRS AND fits Tamiya F104 bodies. Chassis looks significantly longer than F104 though.

It's hard to tell, but it also looks like it's running HPI (hex) style wheels/tires all around, which means they won't be compatible with Tamiya stuff (except old F201 wheels/tires).

I'd personally really like to see the F1 classes move in this direction, as it seems odd that the real-world pinnacle of racing is a spec pan-car class in R/C. But, I already got burned by the F201, which was released to much fanfare then not supported at all by Tamiya, who abandoned the high-tech concept to go back and release more F103 cars and eventually the F104.

Edit: Just noticed a couple more things; looks like it's a 2-speed gearbox.

Also: What's with the "spare" screw-holes in the chassis, and adjustable turnbuckle below the damper pushrods that ties the rear transmission/bulkhead to the front of the upper chassis (see quoted picture below)? Is this going to be an adjustable wheelbase car? Just speculation on my part...

Thats what I initially thought, but its a multi-gear driveline to avoid having a massive spur gear. A bit like Tamiya Mini chassis, they have the ''spur gear'' attached to the next gear in the line.

3Racing is Sakura, Sakura is just a brand name of 3Racing.

Might explain why the f109 is so hard to find in stock anywhere lately.

That tie rod is the "upper deck" and judging by it's proximity to the motor cavity, I doubt a standard carbon/fiberglass upper deck would have had any good mounting points. Case in point, the upper rear suspension arm mounts are SUPER close to the pushrod rockers, so no room for a proper piece of material there.

I'm guessing on another aspect, but there are teeth in the front suspension bulkheads which might be for adjustable caster. That would be MUCH appreciated!

My only fear is F/R weight bias. Most RWD r/c cars have a distinct rearward bias, but this car has the battery extending fairly far forward.

p.s.-I MUST HAVE ONE.

IMHO i don't think the FGX is going to replace the F1-09, for one simple reason: most of rules state that a solid axle is mandatory.

On the other hand i don't think independent rear suspensions can result in a significant performance advantage over solid axle suspensions.

Thats a lot of camber lift..

Rollbar mount at the back i think.. look closely at the rear suspention pictures.
there is a small umbrako screw there.

Coolest car i have seen for a looong time.
