Ah ok, thanks a lot Sean. I do belive it's it, just wanted to make sure that there wasn't typo.
I used to use some low resistance quick charge capacitors with 12V 4700uF characteristic on my LRP.

That's awesome. To replace the 4 bank caps with a single one.... Been wondering if there was another alternative. Thanx for the tip.

Hey all: Just wondering are speed passion motors and speed power batteries owned by the same company? I ask this because some drivers are sponsored by one ,but not the other. Thanks for the info

Speed Power is a branch of Speed Passion...and yes, they are part of the company to each other.

And yes too...some driver are sponsored by SPEED POWER but not Speed Passion, for example, Ryan Lutz. It is all about the drivers decision and their contract.

Isn't the bank of capacitors actually a bank of capacitors and diodes (the surface mount components on the bottom of the PCB). I believe the combination of capacitors and diodes is used to suppress noise and a single capacitor should not be used on its own. Maybe someone who knows about these things could clear this up?

Need advice please. My son was testing our new 1/12th CRC today for our upcoming nationals. Everything on this car was being used for the first time.

Our problem was the high temperature on our V2.1 EX ESC.
The setup
-motor is the new SP 3.5T 1 cell motor (standard timing on motor)
-ESC setup: / punch at 6 / motor timing at max / no brake
-factory software on ESC
-battery SMC 5600 60C
-ESC caps connected
-car in normal running condition and making good laps

On the first run we had the thermal shut down disabled and car made 8,5 minutes OK. After the run the ESC's cooling element on top was really hot. The car had very good speed compared to a couple of A-finaslist drivers' cars.

For the second run we dropped the punch setting to 4 and enabled the thermal shut. At around 4-5 minutes into the run the the motor shut down. Waiting a minute and booting the ESC helped and the car run another minute or so.

What setting affects speedo temp the most punch, timing or ...

The setup should be within specs for the V2.1 EX. There is no room for a fan under the Protoform AMR body.

Ok so a strange question:

I know its not recommended but is it possible to run a 3.5t motor on a Speed Passion gt2.0 lpf without it melting?

Exclamation Cirtic Club Spec Lost All Brake Power

Hey Solara, I ran my Cirtix Club Spec at TCS Regional today and I found out that my ESC's ABS Brake is totally lost no matter how I set it using the program card (0% or 100%). Basically, I lost my brake on the ESC. But something I didn't understand is that, drag brake still works (my only other alternative since I don't like to run drag brake).

I've reset the ESC a few times and still had the same issue. Is my brake FETs blown? How can I get a warranty if it is defective?

Thanks.

I would think that part in bold is source of problem. Way too much timing on 3.5T motor.

The reason for the high temp of our V2.1 EX ESC may also be in the gearing which was a little bit on the long side at 32,8 mm.

But still I am wondering which element is the most likely cause in mod 1/12TH for high temp at ESC, punch or timing setting at ESC or gearing or something else.

Motor temp was normal and too long gearing would mainly heat the motor, I guess.

Aside from the temp cutting the SP V2.1 EX + SP v3.0 1-cell 3.5T combination was just great to drive and very fast compared with the 3 other nationals A-finalists that were also there. Just need to be able to continue to the 8 minute mark.

Ok hmm, iv'e been looking on the speed passion website and at my ESC ( GT 2.0 LPF ) for some firmware and updates but im actually really confused ..
Im not the top at computing so i dont really know the difference between driver, firmware and stuffs, but what im actually trying to find is a firmware update for my GT 2.0 LPF so that i can get the boost option and be the same at my local track .
So if anyone has a moment, could you give me a link or a litle explanation ?
Cheers ;
