1 foot of 12 AWG wire will typically have a resistance of 2mOhm, while 14 AWG will have a resistance of 3mOhm. So the science behind it says 14 AWG for almost all applications will be fine. I say almost, since if you are running a 4 turn brushless in 110F heat you may benefit from the larger wire.

Any idea when the new software is going to be released?

I'd like to get it loaded up and tested in time for the west london nationals next weekend if it's better than the current 528 which i'm not a huge fan of.

I dont think you will see anything new for next weekend. What do you find not to your liking with 528? Many have been using it since release with great results.

Congrats to Brad Johnson on the A-Main appearence on Super Stock 17.5 TC class @ IIC using the Speed Passion GT2.1 ProStock ESC. Also congrats to Bill Sydor the BQ on the same class (miseed by 0.2 sec) using the same GT2.1 ProStock ESC with 528.

It is a very interesting class to watch, it is almost like a mini-WORLD championship except not seeing Marc Rheinard there.

I'm just finding that no matter what settings I run the speedo/software is still wayy too aggressive in comparison to others.

Drove a car with a tekin (my first time) not long back and how smooth it was combined with how early I could get on the throttle very nearly made me wanna change speedos.

By comparison i'm having to compensate by being smoother with the throttle on the handset with the speed passion, losing out time to others who can hit full whack sooner.

Default hobbywing vs SP

tell me why would I spend double the amount for a SP speed control as compared to a hobbywing/xerun?

serious question here, what does the SP do that the HW doesnt?

I heard the fets on the SP are higher quality......does that make the HW any less of a speedy?

Hey guys, when adjusting the timing on a V3.0 Competition 17.5 brushless, should the timing/sensor be able to move without loosening the can bolts. Mine can be pushed either direction fairly easily (it changes positions from the weight of the sensor wire upon hard landings) when the bolts are still tight? Is this normal? What needs to be fixed, changed, adjusted to prevent this. I can't imagine that this is normal.
