This weekend is the first time we'll be back on the Encino Velodrome since the Allstar Shootour/ ISC "Insane Speed Run" weekend.
I'm hoping to get the GT-LPF Esc fired up and see how she runs!
I figure since we're pushing the 21.5 motors with it - I'll use FULL timing (Do these have the ability to add even MORE TIME with any kind of updates?)
It'll be fun to get back on the Big Ol "VELODROME" and see what this puppy will do in MY car!!

I recently picked up a 17.5 Ultra Sportsman and paired it up with my old Novak GTB. I tried it out in the 17.5 class with a 4.2 FDR since that's the highest I could get the gear ratio with my current stock of gears. As I expected, it was quite undergeared and I'm thinking about going down to a 3.8-4.0. Is this a normal FDR to run in the 17.5 class with the Ultra Sportsman and an older BL ESC?

When rebuilding a 17.5 or 13.5 what should the gap be between the sensor and the rotor ???
Does a larger gap have a effect over a smaller gap ???
On any sensored brushless motor for that matter would it make a difference ?

Use the shims at the back of the rotor to make sure the rotor doesn't actually hit the sensors on the sensor board as it rotates. About 1 mm is fairly standard spacing between the rotor and the sensors.
As far as spacing goes - yes, it can make a difference. the closer the proximity of the sensor to the rotor the stronger the signal is to the ESC. Although there is some convoluted instances where close and strong could be too close and too strong for some ESCs, being farther and farther away can in most cases start to degrade the signal and you potentially lose some accuracy.
Generally though within the space available in a motor - not much worry about too far away, just make sure you're not scraping the sensors with the rotor .

They're loctited on, and the most reliable way I've found for removing them is to use an old dead pinion on the shaft and clamp that into a vise. Then rotate the fan on the clamped down shaft to break the loctite bond. Basically you'll destroy the fan in the process, so you really have to want to run the motor without it, and not really have the option to put it back on without buying another rotor.

I'm having some problems with a Speed Passion Inspire and Speed Passion JR motor. I think it is made by Hobbywing.
Here's my problem.... lots of stuttering and it backs up a little before going forward. It came with the programing box and I have changed a bunch of things but no luck. Any advice?
