We are quite lucky, now the weather is excellent for racing outside.
Our local track is pretty much all SP now....

In Chicago, we have something called SNOW so on road outdoor is over...we are moving in for little carpet match box car racing or Off Road. So if you guys have some good setup on ESC/motor, please let me know and I can post it on our web....

As well as other friends that used or ESC and Motor around the world...I will try to post them as well.

Someone must know the bearing dimensions. I'd like not to have to wait for the motor to turn up before I order the ceramics. Can anyone fill me in?

If you are running the GT2.0 Pro, it is still plenty safe to run a 4.5T with timing. I have used that combo all summer, and the ESC barely gets warm at all. It is so nice and cool - even after a 7min heat.

So the ESC is not the problem. In my opinion, running a 5.5T on a huge track is probably pushing it a little. Your motor would be safer, if it was a 4.5T

Well - more safe for the motor itself. Less safe for all people around the track

So... no one here knows why a new Green timing ring in a SP 17.5 V3 would cause it to cog and seemingly be broken? (as posted yesterday?)

no one sees this? Just trying to figure out if I should deal wiht the painful RMA process.

Joe

It drives like an old sensorless motor, chugging, and even at full speed it sounds very very harsh like a misfire in an old car.

The Tekin ESC I am using (in ROAR mode) shows all 3 Hall sensors reporting back.

is 20 Deg just a step too far for this motor? Should I return the sensor ring? If I put the stock 0-10 black ring back in, the motor runs fine.
That sensor might be a problem....where did you get that sensor? Request warranty service and a new one should be send back to you...if under warranty period.

Thanks,

I ordered it direct from SP, so I will ping them to get an RMA setup. I didnt know if this was expected behanviour.

Could it have anything to do with the fact this was a handout motor from Snowbirds (the 1S version)? They didnt set these up any different did they?

Most of our shop will carry that...or check here for the date. Right now, the S and R version will be mid JAN, Stock Club Race version will be FEB/March...PRO version will be APRIL or so.
