Another one for Speedpassion! I raced this weekend at the GLARC Toys 4 Tots race and ran RCGT. The track is 250'x100. We ran the whole track for 7 minutes. All i can say is the V 3.0 17.5's are awesome! I geared my Cyclone S 75/65. Yes, 65t pinion! You can imagine that lanes were wide open. Motor temp was 129*F. I do have a 40mm fan on the motor and i am running the 312 program as well. I did not play with the timing...i really don't need to. Especially with the super tall gearing, you want to keep the motors as cool as possible. I don't recommend gearing this motor this high in any track smaller. This was geared just for the long 250' straight.

wow.

i believe it, though. especially with 312. was it soft off the corners? (and who runs stock on a 250' track? )

The final drive was 2.49. This track was a Nitro track. They allowed the electrics out there so they can compete. This was RCGT so we had to run 17.5's. Otherwise i would have run mod. Regardless, i don't think we were slow at all, we were actually faster then the 5th scale F1's as far as lap times! We ran there to promote electric racing. The more peeps know about electric, the more racers will buy Speedpassion stuff!

from what I was told by a very good driver, the V3.0s appear to definitely be more on the torquey side of things. I am curious from others, in general, how much of a difference in pinion size are you seeing going from motor "X" to say a V3 of the same type (17.5, etc) ?

I am thinking of picking up 2 V3.0s since my other 21.5s failed, already have a 13.5 but no class right now for it.

~ eleven. from 37/114 to 45/106 with a 13.5.

i went +5, +3, +3 and it was a dog until the last jump. i quit there.

wow. I am curious then how this will work out for VTA since we are limited to 4.2 FDR?

with my Tekin 21.5 after a few changes I found 4.66 to work well.

dunno. there's no reason to assume that the other winds will exhibit the same tendencies, but most people are leaning that way...

and i may have been undergeared with my duo. however, they were running the same lap times...

rule of thumb, add teeth, temp the motor, and view the lap times.

Is schumacher the only Speed Passion support around in the US ???
B/C They dont seem to reply or answer to anything.
Its always a question back and then email ignor from there on.

They make decent products as long as it works any question beyond that its ignor. Not the best customer service...

The good fdr for the IIC (17.5 SP V3) with a similar length of straight (90 feet) was 3.8
