I did a RCGT for about 100 feet long straight indoor carpet for 4.5 final...that is a DUO 2 17.5 with 10 degree timing but with SP V1.1 with no software advance... if yours is the old version SP 17.5, I would definitely use 4.0 and start going UP (like gear the pinion UP). However, it is all depends on what speedo that you are using...if things like TEKIN with TURBO...I have seen 17.5 using 5.7 final drive due to the crazy ass turbo thingy....

I ran 4.5 FD this weekend with a 17.5 V3 with the timing on the motor as low as possible, i use a GM gen90 with boost, but if you gear it 3.9 it will give the same.

It was on a medium bite carpet track.

I have a Grandturismo GT 1.1 LPF.If I buy the software programmer can I download the newest software on it?What will the new software do to it?Does it have variable timming?I was thinking of buying a new esc but if I can upgrade my current one then that would be great.

Hi all,

looking to get a gt2.0 but not sure if I can get away with an LPF, or really need the pro. I'd be running 6.5V3 in 2wd off road and 4wd off road, and potentially 5.5v3 in 4wd off road too, which from the looks of it is right on the edge of what the lpf can do, what does everyone recommend?

No...verion 1.1 speedo does not have the software/firmware update feature. So even if you do have the LCD software programmer, you won't be able to upload the software used for V2. onto the V1.1.

I don't know exactly what you meant by the variable timing...but the V1.1 already has 8 different timings for you to choose from, from 0* to 26.25*. GT2 speedo has the exact same options, except the hardware/software of the GT2 is alot more advance then the GT1 V1.1.

I strongly recommand to upgrade to the GT2, if you run motor like 10.5 and slower...get the LPF, anything faster, get the PRO version.

I use my GT1 V1.1 speedo for my Schumacher CAT SX running 5.5 and 6.5 motor....it works just like the PRO. So I am sure the GT2 LPF will work the same, however, I use the LPF only because that was used for my on road and it is laying around for no use except for off road....if I am planning to get a new speedo dedicated for off road especially running hot motor like 6.5 or 5.5...I would definitely go for the PRO just to make sure I have the top of the line speedo running on my car...

Our local track is allowing 17.5 brushless as a replacement for stock motors in the SCT class. I just installed and ran a new 17.5 V3 in my Slash, and there is NO comparison to the stock Titan! It is a quick motor for sure.

What is the timing in degrees for the new 3.0 13.5 motor?

Is there timing built in? What are the degrees of timing on the end bell?

Im looking buying one.
