Default SP esc and x12 13.5

HI Guys

I have a SP GT2 Pro and x12 13.5 and was wondering if anyone got this combo to run cool or acceptably cool, here are my current settings

DDRS 8
boost 40 (any more and it just gets even hotter)
Turbo 15
Turbo delay 0.2
Turbo open 6deg/.1
Boost Acc 500 (running lower ups the temps even further)

Track is 40 x 20 outdoor smooth asphalt with medium to highspeed sections, currently running a 27 -28.5 mm rollout or 6.97FRD and the motor does not come off a 5 min run under 100c

Does anyone have setting that will work ???

Can you post the rest of your settings? Such as the boost start RPM?

Take a look at my X12 17.5T setup posted a couple of pages back, and then go a bit milder. They worked quite good.

But no matter what you do, the X12 will run hot! In high traction, my motor got 85 deg C after a 5 min heat, and some (at the DHI Cup) went even higher!
Probably the most important thing, is to use 4-dot insert in the endbell on the X12. Anymore timing (less dots) and you will never get decent temps - you will most likely fry it.

Hi, I just bought a SP Citrix Club Sport esc for my RM-01, wasn't untill the motor wouldn't turn that I noticed it isnt for 1 Cell Li-Po. I'm using an SP V3 17.5T motor. Will it work if I just replace the motor with a SP V3 10.5T 1S motor?

Does SP make a 1 Cell Esc?

thanks

the citrix will run the V3 1 cell or 2 cell motor with no problems , in the F1 the 1 cell motor is better as it is lighter, i dont think the citrix will run a 1 cell battery

Taman,

Look into the Speed Passion GT 2.1 EX. That ESC has a small footprint and supports 1 and 2 cell lipos.

I have 3 of these and they are great! No need for a booster or rx pack either!

The V3 motors are very good all-around. Torque I would say is comparable to Novak.

I find the V3 motors to be very heavy on low end torque compared to most motors out there, but seem to be very very smooth after the initial grunt. This is especially true when you add the new Red or Green timing boards.

This is all for blinky, by the way. Boosted, 95% of your speed comes from the ESC, so you don't need to worry about motor characteristics too much.

Did you reset the voltage cut off? On my EX2.1 I had to plug it into a 2S pack and turn off the voltage cut off limiter for it to work with 1S.

No I haven't tried that - how do you know when your battery is low if the voltage cut off limiter isnt working? So it's still ok to run I take it as you have been doing it.
