Tim
I ran 3.7 with timing in the middle on can, (how it came out of box) esc timing 18.75 (speedpassion gt 2.0) no problems, could have went up a gear or two

Does anyone have any tips for the version 3 17.5 that they wish to share since the iic ?

Do you gear the same as the version 2.

Timming settings, is 0deg the same as the version 2 (non adjustable) timming or is the 0-10deg under or over and above the timming range of the version 2 motor.

Thanks in advance.

I gear mine at 3.7 with a tekin rs pro with the turbo turned off, and dropped 4 teeth with the turbo turned on, didn't notice a difference, (fastest car on the track either way) temp was only 140. could have added a tooth or two, but why bother

Will the GT1.1 LPF run on 1s lipo? If so is a booster recommended?

Im running a 10.5 v3 geared at 5.920 with timming set to 0, and an LRP stock spec spx at profile 7. My car is a TRF416WE

After a 5 minute heat on a medium/technical track, the motor comes off at 35/40c ?!? can't believe how cool this engine runs. I'm using an LRP fan, which i am sure helps alot, but i am still amazed at how cool this motor runs.

Oh, not to mention... it's PLENTY quick.. for the whole 5 mins.

Makes me wonder if i could gear lower??

It sure will. Either a booster or a receiver pack will be necessary for the esc to power the motor optimally. It may run without one, but I wouldn't expect to win any races without a booster or receiver pack.

You make me laugh out loud Mr. Haynes. Can I run a SP LPF 2.0 in my Mini-Z?

Sorry to report it was a no-go...double-blinking green LED and no power to the motor at all. Plugged in a receiver pack and everything worked fine. Not a problem but maybe I don't have the newest software? I've had the ESC in my touring car since it was purchased in December of 08 with no updates.

There's no way 1s lipo can be used without a booster or receiver pack. The voltage is too low for the electronics to work.
