323Stock - even for mod motors. Of course using less timing as in stock classes. A setup for a boosted 4.5T was posted some pages back.

What is your 323stock setup...?

About timing board in the motor...the V3 came standard 10° board. MMM came standard with 20° board. It is not the option, those are standard, and I always run 10° back then when 20 and 30* were not even the option...Now, I think my latest setup (carpet season just started and there are no BOOST class no more) was about 22°. And no...you don't run minimum motor timing, nor run MAX motor timing...is depends on track size, and esc setup.

If your temp is 115 after 5 minutes running BOOST class...there must be something wrong there. Don't get me wrong...I WISH we are all getting only 115° running boost class and be fast...but we are all reaching 180-190° almost to the line that will blow up the motor in order to be fast....115° is just way too good to be true (that still be fast).

Your MMM getting hot is because the board inside (RED BOARD) is 10 plus degree more then the black V3 board (which is only 10° max)...you max out the MMM, that is 20° timing....if your ESC setting does not change, of course it will get hotter because you are simply adding 10°+ then your V3 setup.

Also...if you are running MMM 17.5 for blinky class.....your 4.1 final is about right. Make sure you use the green sensor board and crank to full right 30°. You might need to gear up 1 or 2 tooth...again, talk to BILL SYDOR, he was TQ last year at IIC for stock 17.5.

And ask him about superstock 17.5...and have him to look at your 323stock setting...I think there must be something you did that is completely different then what we used for boosted 17.5....10.4 final is just crazy.

Good luck at IIC...
Sorry for the confusion. What I meant to say by 10 degree upgrade is that I put the red board in my original V3.0.

I don't have a green board so I might be stuck with what I have on my stock MMM.

I admit that the 115 degree is great however I also have a high powered fan and a heatsink on the motor. The MMM with higher timing(was running it turned to maximum compared to the v3.0 with red board in the middle) lost power.

When I ran Tekin motor/esc I was running around a 7:1 ratio for the identical track. When I ran that with the speed passion motor/esc I couldn't get the acceleration needed. When I geared to the 10:1 ratio though the torque is spectacular and then I have the boost take me down the straight.

When I ran around the 7:1 ratio the temperature was around 80degrees. I had no low end and little top end because the motor took too long to spool up.

When you guys run such high temperatures are you losing power during the run?

Lap time wise I would say it was only a tenth of a second however my finger could feel it.

As for settings on my boost 17.5 this is what I run going by memory -

4 DRSS, 45 boost timing, 0 drag break, max break 62.5%, turbo timing 30, boost start 2000 rpm(I had it at 1000 for the V3.0), turbo delay .1s, boost timing acceleration 300(not 100% sure).

I've never run brushless motors as hot as you describe however I also think the carpet track we have being 60'x48' is quite a bit smaller so that might have something to do with it. I aim for around 140-150 degrees with a fan.

If I ran without a fan/heatsink though I definitely would be at the temperatures you mention.

The setup Solara posted was for 205 software with no boost. Unless I missed the one you are speaking off.

For some reason I thought 323 was blinky only software. I will make sure I get that loaded up. Last time I ran SP it was with 528Stock software.

I set you ESC to the following setup http://www.speedpassion.net/uploadfi...Harbor_JAS.pdf

It was what I use for our last 2 outdoor season and it work great for our outdoor track. I use the same setup but use th 9.52 FDR for out indoor race because I am unsure what is the proper gearing for our (a lot smaller) indoor track. It turn out it run great. Has lot of low end power and get the top end with the turbo at the same time.

[QUOTE=zipperfoot;9708414]OK give you a week...

You will be back in stock on "SOME GT ESC"? What if I were to buy one and had a problem? Would it take months to get a replacement? What is the reason for the short supply?

I want to give the benefit of the doubt SP, and try something I have not used before, but at what cost.

Xx
