I would suggest the following:

FDR range: 7.5 for starting point.

ESC Settings:
9 . 35
10 . 6
12 . 18
13 . 5000
14 . 0.1 sec
15 . 600

Looking at getting a Speed Passion 4.0R motor for speed runs up and down my street. Car will be an Xray T2 with a Novak GTB speed controller. What would be a good starting FDR?

I was thinking 8.5-9.0

Do not plan on racing this kit.

Thanks!

OK give you a week...

You will be back in stock on "SOME GT ESC"? What if I were to buy one and had a problem? Would it take months to get a replacement? What is the reason for the short supply?

I want to give the benefit of the doubt SP, and try something I have not used before, but at what cost?

Default help with motor heat

Can any one help me solve a motor heat issue.
I have a T3'11 built and set to kit setup which works really well for grip and balance. I am using the Speed Passion GT2.1 with Sp21.5tMMM - 6200mAh 60C.
I run @ Boronia rc club and @ dandenong, both in Australia.
Boronia is a small to med track with low to medium grip.
I tend to run with a FDR 5.7 - 6.2,(23-27pinion / 81-83spur) .
The prob is, unless I back the speedy right way off, I get major 95 - 100 C heat, or max speedy out and drop FDR and the car is as slow as a stock 540.

Does anyone have a suggestion on a good balance to run speedy and FDR.

any help would be muchly appreciated.

You motor temp is the maximum I would run in boosted applications. If you are not running a fan on the motor, you should consider adding one. If you are already running a fan and like the ESC / Gearing feel you can try these things to slightly reduce the motor temperature:
1) Change #4 setting to 6
2) Reduce the physical motor timing (put sensor in the middle and adjust up from there).
3) Change #10 setting from 12 to 6
4) Change #14 setting to 0.2sec

Jimmy

Downloaded the 323 stock software.

Help please for 13.5 TC boosted setup. I have seen Jimmy's 17.5 setup. Would I just try this setup but say change the FDR to something like 7.5 for indoor carpet 36x80 med/high grip carpet?

Thanks,

Ivan
