I think you have it, I have 2 Hobbywing lcd boxes one has been flashed to SP firmware the other is still Hobbywing firmware. Couldn't get a SP box in the UK so after waiting a month i got the Hobbywing ones.

you must run booster or receiver pack and remember dont turn the esc switch on with receiver pack hooked up or you will see puff of smoke and a rma in your future

So,... Now that I've made first experiences the last days with my new GT2.1, i got to complain a little bit about speedpassion! :-(

First: one of my two V3.0 13.5R motors came without balance weight on the purple ring. I thought that's because it came already balanced without extra weight, but after 2 battery loads extrem vibrations accured- guess what- One bearing got damaged because the rotor is not balanced at all! :-(

Second: my GT2.1 always turns off the boost (i read this means it turns into sensorless Mode) i use 528 stock and SMC MRE 4700 40c lipo - tried to solve the problem by changing sensorwire, cleaned sensores, flashing software, recalibrating ESC/Radio and even tried 5 & 6 cell nimh batteries (lrp 4600 Fat Cobra) but the Problem stil accures :-(
I also read it might happen because the speedos BEC can't handle the power the servo needs - that can't be the case since i'm using Sanwa SDX-801 servo which is used by SP drivers like Marc Rheinard (or SP sells there speedos with bad quality BECs - don't hope so)

Has anyone of you also same Problems??

@ all SP Factory around here:
Do you know about those problems- maybe you have a solution?

If None of you have a Solution for me i'll try to contact speedpassion, maybe they can help. Otherwise i will try to get my money back - at least for the speedo,

Don't get me wrong; i want to solve my problems because the 2 minutes (or maybe less) boost works , it works great.!

We real need to know what your settings are, timing on the motor, gearing etc. Typically when the boost cuts out after a few minutes of running the over all timing stack up is too much.

Is it a 'voltage cut-off' issue?

played with the 528 today, I usually only run 6min. cause that's how long races are, anyway Played until it hit the cut-off (3.0v per cell)(sedan, rubber,17.5, 2 cell)(street asphalt) it went really soft, lost "boost", went into what I'll call "You are done Dude, head for the pits" mode. Fresh charge, back in the fast lane!

Like i wrote before - i use SP V3.0 13.5R with SMC 7,4v MRE 4700 40C lipo and SP GT2.1. The Car is a TRF416x @ 1400 gr.
Sw.: #100528 Stock
Gearratio: 5,39
Speedo settings:
1-1
2-2
3-4 (also tried 1 - None Volt Cut off)
4-8
5-3
6-1
7-1
8-1
9-8
10-1 (also tried 2 - no heatprotection)
12-7
13-2
14-3
15-2

I always used standart 30mm ESC fan and standart Round capacitor and tried Jamicon 2200 uf 25v and also low ESR capacitor from panasonic.

Do you need any additional info?
I'd say it's no boost "cut out" it's more kind of boost "cut off" because the boost shuts down after just a few laps and never starts again.

@ james & Drillit:
It's no voltage cutoff issue - i've also tried none voltage cutoff with no changes

I heard that some people having problems with the boost they calibrate the radio with the gas end point at around 95 96% and after they give up at 100%
Otherwise go up at 103 104% with your current setup and ceck how it works.
Second: do you have tryed with a different motor if you are having the same problems? A friend of mine with a V3 had a similar problem and was an issue about the sensors (broken)
Hoping this can help you.

Shqizy - What size track are you running on and where do you have the motor timing position set? Also, what are your motor temps? Reason I ask is with that final drive ratio you posted, I run my 17.5 on a 200ft straight.

I'd be curious to know if it does it with a different motor as well.

go to speedpassion.net and follow the directions for returning it, I have a LPF 2.0 a pro 2.0 and a couple of pro stock 2.1 with no issues, but a friend a of mine is having the same issues as you are, I am of the opinion that it is a faulty esc and needs to be sent back. the only possible other thing I can think of is it has something to do with his KO radio, but others around here are using that radio with no issues.

drop your gear ratio to around 6.5 - 7 if not lower and try again.
5.39 is a bit long for 13.5.
5.5 - 6.5 ia what i run with a 17.5.

@ shqizy

I want to calm you down, I have also the Sanwa SDX-801 servo and I have no problem with that.

the only thing what I can say after I update my ESC (GT 2.0 pro + SP 13,5T SP V3.0) with the 100528 firmware-.
AT FULL THROTTEL the ESC and the green LED was stuttering.

I made a complete new Transmitter - ESC setup ( 5 seconds work) and after that the ESC is still working very fine. - and the green LED is "burning" at full throttel :-)

@ gearing and ESC parameters:

I run a XRAY T3 at 84/27 (1:5,91) with the most same setting as you have posted
track :
ww.erc-wrneudorf.com/index.php?section=track_outdoor[/url]

So if you are able to localized, by changing motor or other things, that it is the ESC and it is not able to work correctly, send it back.

but for me the Speedpassion combo is the most variable and most "outperforming" thing I ever have drove in a touring car.

best regards from vienna

Anybody willing to check for bad/loose solder joints on the sensor itself?
The SP sensor is famous for partially soldered pins at the back of the connector.......when it fails, it goes sensorless until you reset the esc power switch (off-on), then you are good to go until it breaks contact again.

I posted about this back in the day of the 1.1 (with Sportsman motors) and it's even worse with the v3 motors. I have had great success carefully resoldering the pins (plug/connector) on the inside of the sensor.

This issue has been ignored for way too long here.

Good Luck..............(I'm running a 2.0 lpf w/ 528 in 17.5 v3 in sedan and a 13.5 v3 w rspro 1s in 12th)

the official Speed Passion GT2.1 Super Charge instruction will present rpm
3000 4500 6000 7500 9000 10500 12000 13500 15000

While "Speed Passion PC Interface v1.33" and "Speed Passion LCD Pro Firmware"
will show you

but if you are using Hobby Wing "PC Interface" and "LCD firmware"
it will tell you
3000 4500 6000 7500 9000 10500 12000 13500 15000

the
3000 4500 6000 7500 9000 10500 12000 13500 15000

but the 4000 5000 6000 7000 8000 9000 10000 11000 12000
is the latest RPM of V2.0_100528STOCK.

Hi I'm new here...

I'm playing with a lot of my friend using Tekin RS Pro together with Tekin 10.5T motor. They said their end rpm for this track 200feets straight is around 18000RPM they are really fast. That's mean my end rpm should be higher a bit than them due to I'm using 11.5T motor. Is that correct in order to improve my top speed so that can catch up with them?

Item #9 and #12 is for top speed right? Track 200feets straight I should maximize this and minimize item #13 and #15 for low temp. Between #9 and #12 which one should be higher and lower for best results?

Items #13 and #15 is for pickup right? Track 100feets straight I should maximize this and minimize item #9 and #12 for low temp. Between #13 and #15 which one should be higher and lower for best results?

Item #14 Turbo Delay - Got effect on top speed for 200feet track or not if I use OFF? How about 100feet track if I also use OFF? Why must we use delay? It's already stated in the Stock Firmware Instruction that the turbo will only kick out at fully throttle but at correct setting value only. What if our setting come earlier but our delay still not on? Any power loss? Any advise on this?

Tekin software item#9 can go more than 21degrees but I also heard Orca software can go up until 30degrees. We can only go until 21degrees. Any impact on this between motor speed and should we use mechanical motor timing + esc timing in order to get parelel with their timing?? Any advise??

Thx..
