V2 motor is for STOCK SPEC racing, which use the stand connection (solder thru holes) and has no timing advance feature....low budget spec motor.

V3 motor is for Stock to pro MOD racing...which use the new bullet plugs wire system so you can swap motor without soldering wires in and out...it has 0 to 10 degrees of advance timing on motor can.....high end competition motor.

i just started to run the V3 motors.. I like them alot. For car maintance there is no longer a need to pull out the iron. sold once and your done with it.. Nice time saver..

Only thing to note... IF your like me and run short wires you'll need a new set of 3 wire to reach the power posts.. On my B4 i had to run new wires.. not a big deal just and fyi

Remember, these are general settings. Track conditions and personal driving styles vary. Use these settings at your own risk.

Software 100422 can support any turn motor...it is the SPEED CONTROLLER that you have can or cannot support low turn motor....

What is your SP speedo..? GT2 pro or GT2 LPF or GT2.1 Pro stock..?

if you want to run a 3.5 just stick to the 205G or 323 firmware, less chance you going to fry the motor.
It can be run with the new software but you need to know what you doing and run low timing values or motor will overheat.

If you are running SP GT2 PRO...you can run 3.0T motor...you have the base mod setup above provided by the SP Team driver over Europe already...

1 thing I would do is get your final drive to 10 instead of 9....I just don't like to start anything below 10 with mod motor especially 3T and supercharger. Then you can check motor temp and infield performance and gear accordingly.

I have the same issue, to solved it I change the internal motor sensors

the ESC for a tc spec and the problem was the same, changed the internal sensor problem solved.

I would probably not run setting 9 at 1. All that would do is make the car have a ton of torque and no top speed. Also it would negate the timing change system. Why bother having the new software if you are not going to use it?

With 205 we used 26 degrees flat line thoughout the range with no troubles. So why not have setting 9 at say5-8? I would not run any turbo though. I would make the start rpm very high and setting 15 should be quite a high to keep it cool.

But to be honest a 3T would be no good however you set it up. Europes best drivers were using 4T+ from what I have seen in reports on that huge track. Rubber tyres can only grip so much.

Default GT2.1 Prostock confusion?

Hi,

I'm confused about the new GT2.1 Prostock ESC.

Can somebody from SP please give a definitive answer about whether or not the GT2.1 can run low turn MOD motors or not, please? I've searched through this forum and found conflicting answers.
I'm aware that you need to change to the MOD firmware to do it, I don't have a problem with that. Just want to know if it's the same as the GT2.0 Pro inside. If not, why is it the same price?

Also, I can't find any specs for the GT2.1 either. I'd like to know max current, resistance, etc. Anyone have a link to that info?

Thanks for any help.

Cheers, Frank

Hi , u just purchase a GT 2.0 LPF , limit of 5.5 t, is ut any good esc for 13.5t racing ? I dont think il be racing mod, but I do have a LIPO battery, so I'd like to know if the GT LPF is good or not ?
Also, can i programe it via PC ? Are the instructions clear about firmwares, seting up and bla bla bla....
Does the ESC heat up easly ? Does it have reversed polarity protection ?

Thank you

Hi guys I`m in a bit of a bind, I just bought a new stock spec GT2.1 it`s had latest FW upgrade and running a new SP 17.5, It won`t rev over about 25%, at full throttle. Checked every thing I can think of, light flashing in bottom of esc, any one have any ideas? I have state titles this weekend, so could really use a quick fix, cheers, Dave.

I must add that there V2 motor for high end competition.
Actually, because SP forgot to send the V3 motors for homologation to IFMAR V2 are the motors SP drivers will.

Having run both (4.5t) I must say that both are very fast and reliable. V3 apart from the obvious advantage of swaping motors fast and hassle free, they are colder although they need to gear them higher
