I use a stubby lipo and have to add weight to get back upto 1350g , race 17.5 blinky at my local outdoor club.

My config will be:
- SP 13.5t V3 (Nr. 138135V3)
- SP Cirtix
- CS LiPo 7,200mAh 295gr
- receiver RX-461 10gr
- lightweight body LTC-R
- servo Sanwa SDX-801 50gr

What weight would I be at?
?? - i don't think anyone can answer that...if they do..they would be making it up.
!!a 7200mah battery...that is a lot of mah for onroad....i run max 5600....unless you're going to run 12 minutes main (which is unheard of) 4500-5500 mah is the standard.
but I will say 295g seems very light for that size....anyone have in their hands to confirm that number.


Naturally the car has to come with a geardiff. No geardiff = no go!
option part...i have it on both cars...it's awesome but the ball is very nice also.
double jointed front axles. No double jointed axles = no go!
option part....no one gives this is a kit...usually an option part..
but I haven't needed it.
I've run my CXL on carpet and asphalt...the car has soo much steering I have my dual rate down to 65%.


Furthermore:
can I make FDR from 3.0 to 5.0?
YES....very easy....with 48 or 64 pitch...
i use both....run a 100 64 pitch...76 tooth 48 pitch.. pinion changes depending on motor..etc.
just have fun.
?1350 gram ....min weight in the States is 1380...last year 1420...there will be a point where a car is too light to control correctly (that conversation need not happen here, on another thread already).
there won't be many cars with full gear on it, that will get you to 1350 min weight and balanced front to back and side to side.

Default Esc or double joint cvds

Is there a company that makes djcs/ecs cvds for the mi4cxl. I know thEy are not necessary but I do like using them.

there are a few people which have used the Xray Ecs....there should be some info in thread...you gotta do a search to get the details.

Schumacher does sell a ECS set...made by Spec R...
but I have to be upfront and say don't buy them...the alloy is very weak where the bone meets the inner pin area..
The Xray one is what everyone tries to fit on all cars.

but on a better note the Schumacher Steel bones are absolutely bullet proof..if you break those...you hit a brick wall....by far the most durable CVDs i've used on any car. you can take that to the bank.

I would not get too hung up on trying to meet the minimum weight limits - while it may help it is car balance that is the important thing. By that I mean side to side balance - and in that department the Mi4cxl is very good. You can flip the belts and diffs to get good balance depending on how heavy your electrics are. The steering and grip that the car generates is fantastic.

You can also add lightened parts out of the Schumacher hopup catalogue including Ti hinge pins, lighter turnbuckles etc. I did fit the turnbuckles but only because I liked the purple alloy

On the subject of ECS's - they seem to be the current must have part to try but to me they are very much something that you will either love or hate - I tried the SpecR ones but just didn't like the feel of the car and I went back to the Schumacher standard ones which are some of the best (and nicest looking) ones out there and are bulletproof.

You can see a review of the car on my site (http://rcracingni.co.uk/?p=4561) with pictures and I think you will see the quality of the car. Add to that the fact that Chris Grainger, as the top UK driver, came 7th in the recent ETS against some of the biggest names in RC and he has just won the opening round of the BTCC championship, here in the UK, the car is very capable.

Default Spur gears

What spur gears best fit the Mi4CXL? To be more specific, will the Xray Spurs fit. I am sure the Shumacher spurs are the best, but, Ihave some Xray spurs laying around if they are useable????

Yep there are! Seen it on TC6.1, T3'12 and Corally HMX.

295gr is light in my book. Yours is heavier?

Want to run 48dp, FDR 3.0 to 5.0.
Which brand of spurs and pinions best to buy for this car?
So gear diff is an option? Is there own product, or the Spec-R one?
Kit is spool in front?

I'm almost sold on this car.......
Just have to figure out what extras to buy.

The only real option for spurs are Schumacher ones - although I think RW might make some that can be bought direct from them. The spur fitting is unique.

Gear diff is from Spec R - although can be bought from Schumacher.

Yes Spool in the front in the kit.

It weighs 295gr, like the average 2S LiPo does.
Using a shorty LiPo and mMoving the esc the other side of the car is not an option for me. I am seeking for a traditional layout. So motor, receiver and esc on the left. LiPo on the right.

Weight still is my biggest concern with the CXL.
My Corally RDX Phi'09 weighed 1,371gr without balancing weights.

With balancing weights it weighed in at 1,420gr.
Eventually I tossed the car out, mainly because of that.
It has to be at or around 1,350gr!

Oke guys, thanks for all of your input.

But I already decided to not buy me the CXL.

Too much of a risk of not getting it down to 1,350gr the traditional way.
That is like it is in the kit, no hop-ups, 300gr LiPo and so on and so forth.

Don't want the same hassle I had with my RDX Phi'09.

After some reading, I think some of the new packs coming out are similar to shorty packs with cells a bit more flatened this should prob save weight.

My fear is, that it is too much of hassle to get it down to 1,350gr.
There are cars where this is not an issue at all.
Those are the ones I am focusing on now.
