I have seen a few posts on here that talk about the motor mount being cut for more flex/traction, do you cut your motor mount for asphalt racing?

Jilles,

I would very much like it if you and Marc and Viktor and other TRF guys would do some kind of Twitter postings during race weekends.

I think the RC industry has poor coverage and it would be nice to be able to follow some of you during race weekends, preparation for big races.

What do you think,

Brett H

More shims = lower roll center.

Also, effects camber gain on suspension compression if the link is angled. More angle, more gain.

I understand that, but as I said, individual racer updates would be nice.

That would be quite good but I'm sure they are very busy. Alex Hagberg has a blog that he updates after race weekends, I'm not sure if Jilles and Marc do the same?

Jilles, I'm going to be running the new orion 4.5 with an SSX v1, I know you used this combo in thailand but was wondering how much motor can timing you would use on a large track (50m straight)

I have done some testing with this and on low/medium tracks I do like the cut motormount better. On high traction I still like the one-piece motormount.

Change the camberlink angle, less shim is more camber change is more traction. Usually I ran between 3.5 - 5mm in front and 3 - 4mm on the rear bulkhead

Actually motor timing is not so important as you do all the tuning with the speedcontroller. I advice to start with 0 timing and then adjust the power program on your speedo for the right power. For 50m straight I suggest to run gearing about 7.7 with 4.5T.

Good idea but I'm not very familiar with Twitter.
First i wanted to have my own website but soon I realised this cost a lot of time and money to make. I can start posting pics of tests and races and show some new bits for example on Facebook?

Hey Jilles, not sure if you have much info on what the new Orion Vortex R10 would be like in a boosted 17.5 class.. The motors are rumored to be awesome... just wondering if you know of any testing concerning the ESC, and the outcome?

With cutting the motor mount, does anyone have pictures of who it's done. just curious as I run on low to medium traction and would like to try this down the track.
