I do think that spec tires in stock and even superstock is a good idea.

But, 10.5 in mod isn't the way to go. The speeds aren't what's keeping new people out of mod (my opinion). What's keeping people out of mod is the fact that some are putting so much prestige on winning stock. I remember a time when winning a big stock race simply ment you were ready to start running mod. Stock ment nothing and mod ment everything.

Funny..... the old site is still up and running. Take a look at the names of the top ten in each class from what I assume is the last entry in the 2001 - 2002 series. Amazing!

Although I'm not a huge fan of Losi, you gotta give it too them, they do make cars that can be competitive, that people use for more then a 1 year life span. I'm using a XXX-S a friend gave me, and I'll admit, coming from a Xray, its a pretty good car.

Wouldn't that be awesome if somebody could pull it off,
and get all the race promoters back on the same page!

I was wondering if 12 scale stock is slower now than they were when you guys were running brushed motors? I just got done watching the 12 stock a main and they just dont look as fast and they were before or is it because I watched the mod a main first.

Single cell Lipo has slowed them all down. 3.7 volts just doesn't pull the same as 4.8

but 1/12th racing has been booming for us since the change to 1s. everybody is having fun. less carnage, more racing.

there needs to be three basic divisions in all the forms of our racing:
- a novice class, for the new racer.
- stock or limited class as a place to garner skills
- mod so we can see the limits pushed

keeping it simple makes rules easier to write and follow, more people will enjoy racing, we all benefit.

Default 1S SLOW who said that

At the second round of the Uk 1/12th scale nationals.Certainely stock 10.5 a 1S lipo didnt figure in the top 40.
But in open mod a LIPO car won Olly Jefferies. driving an Associated R5 Some big names in the 1/12th world in A main.
Andy Griffiths, Andy Moore so this was no fluke win
