R/C Tech Live @ the 2003 US Indoor Championsions in Cleveland, OH
Hi all,
We are here and have all the equipment set up in our hotel room at the US Indoor Champs. As always we'll be providing live round-by-round coverage as soon as the racing begins, and pictures to go along with it.
Here is our coverage page:
http://www.rctech.net/events/cleveland2003/index.shtml
Here is the schedule:
Wednesday: Sign-Up and 1 Round of Controlled Practice
Thursday: 2 Rounds of Controlled Practice
Friday: 2 Rounds of Qualifying
Saturday: 2 Rounds of Qualifying
Sunday: Mains
The first pictures while probably arrive Thursday, since the Ballroom (with the track) is not yet open to us. A handful of racers are here with more arriving by the hour.
If you have any questions or anything, I'll do my best to answer them.

It was my understanding that there would be one round of practice, today starting at 4 PM. Any truth to that?

There is supposed to be a practice round (or something resembling one) this afternoon, but they are running behind schedule. Most have not received motors yet and the track is not open.
The track is a very, very technical one (of course). I'll get some pictures of it later this evening when practice is on.

Keep up the work guys.

He must know MR Bill or what ever because he has pics of them building the track.

Yea, they are giving him access and stuff that they won't give me. I tried to get in to look at the track last night and was told to get lost. I asked about getting printouts and they said no, but they are giving them to him, so... go figure. Anyway, there are a lot of pics on his site, check them out.
Practice just got underway about 45 minutes ago. Running through Touring Stock right now, then Masters, then Mod, then on to 12th Scale.

one thing not to do, don't take a pic during the race, or right before the race of the drivers, o the stand. Also, make sure when you taking a pic, your not marshalling, or too close tothe track, you might be busy taking a pic, and miss a crash, that you should take car of(marshal). Even i ur not marshalling, don't be in a crash prone area, you might need to help out. I say this accept for the first lap, if they don't start ifmar style.

I just talked with my brother and he said they started a round of practice at about 6:15 tonight. The track is very technical and is going to make for soem close racing. As of now the new handouts seem to be more consistent from motor to motor so stock should be even closer this year unless someone finds the "special" combo. Also the new Orion motor looks to be really fast the WHOLE run. Let you know more when I hear it.

hey josh, if you race at RR, then we're blessed to have such wide lanes. Trackside is alittle narrower, from what it looks like, from the pics i've seen of RSJ...., its very narrow, and the track may be like that, one good lane. except for the sweeper at the end of the straight, thats a good passing point.
