Is it possible to run other motors on the traxxax brushless ESC. Thanks all help is appreciated.

Yup, the VXL system is a sensorless system... so any sensorless motor will work, as long as it's within the ESC's rating. So if your ESC is only rated to handle a 3700kv motor, don't go out and buy a 6500KV motor. Some sensored motors will also work without the sensor wire pluged in, but if I were you I'd stick with a regular sensorless motor.
