I recently built two and neither one leaks. Just make sure the two halves are seated on each other evenly when put together and tighten screws in a x pattern a little at a time till tightened. Also I put green slime on the o ring. If you over fill they will most likely leak. If none of that works you could try doubling up on gaskets. Good luck.

yeah ive got them on my photons ( x2 ) they fit nice with a bit of shimming and some grinding of the shaft ...

in my opinion , i reckon the seem to run truer , and smoother ..

done 3 meetings now with no problems ...

but you do need , different size bearings ....

Or you could run the stock plastic ones that I have never ever had a problem with in almost 2 years and they dont add 10 grams to the drive train.

fair point but i was after the " bling " side of it , but it does seem to run smoother ..

besides that , with my big 5000mah lipo , and all balanced spot on , it was still too light ( minium 1350kg ) even with a normal weight shell !! ...

but the last place you want to add weight is:
#1 in the drive train
#2 higher than the chassis plate

i agree that the plastic spur holders leave a little to be desired, but once you learn the trick (find the loosest spot w/in the gear mesh, and re-adjust to that point on the spur) to set your mesh correctly it becomes a non-issue.

But if your car is light you don`t add weight to the highest point of the car and sertanly not to the drivetrain...

hey im running on carpet with foam tires. I see alot of people using gear diffs lately but notice all the old setupsheets say balldiff. I am not a real experienced racer can someone help me out and let me know should I go with gear diffs and if so the spec r's or something else, or just stay with the ball diffs.

Thanks!

People are experimenting with gear diffs front/rear/both on carpet -- but I think the average racer is better off w/ a spool/ball diff combo. Outdoors there is no doubt that a rear gear diff is the way to go!

For those of you that have switched steering bell crank because of breakage, whic one are you using. The Top Alloy Crank or the King Headz available at Amain hobbies.
