9551 all the way man!

I like it better then the low pro KO servo. KO servos imo arent worth the price we pay

I have a 9550 in mt VTA car and its smooth as silk, just a little weak.
I was contemplating the 9551 but the first run of them had issues.
Looks like I'm gonna have to give it a shot now... ty REVO man!

BLS551. Believe it!

So far, everything is looking great. I'm interested to see how this plastic spool holds up.

Figured I should of worded that a bit differently... If you so happen to have had something break that is KO.. They usually fix it for free (at a big race anyways). I don't care who makes your electronics something is bound to go bad.

Honestly, id be more into KO stuff if it wasn't so spendy. I really don't think that the KO stuff is worth the extra money. Thats just my personal opinion. I wont go into detail and clutter up the thread though..

Yeah I love my 9551, I need to send it in for repair, but I soldered black wire on it, so I dont think it will go over very well with them lol. But im not sure, they replaced my 9550 with the 9551 last time, but I didnt open that one up and do anything to it. And I dont have any experience with there BL servos

Now anyhow. We need more pics of everyone TOP car! Hurry and build LOL.

EJ, what gearing did you end up running at swr?

You could go with the Ko Propo PDS 2345 ICS, its costs less then $100, and the specs are as good as on the futaba servos. .08 speed and 114.5 ounces of torque. I guess the price is lower than the 2367 or 68 because it doesnt have that awesome looking heat sink. Thants just my opinion.

The only KO servo I still have is a 2174FET. Futaba all the way IMO.. Id like to try the new airtronics low pro servo though. There 68 bucks from rc market, not sure how much in the states.

My $.02 on servos. I am mentioning no brands here so don't think I'm bashing KO, I am not but in this case service doesn't matter one bit to me. What does matter is reliability.

I give you two choices.

1. Buy one brand x servo for 100 dollars at the beginning of the year. Two times during the year the servo will fail on you while leading the A main and you will lose. Fortunately, a guy at the track will fix it for you for free.

2. Buy one brand y servo for 110 dollars at the beginning of the year and have no failures at all. However, it will die in the first practice the next year and since no one services it, you will have to buy a new one.

Personally, I'm taking option 2. Yes option one costs a bit less money but it also cost me two race wins. How much do we spend on cars, motors, etc. to try and go faster and win races? Why run something a bit cheaper that may cost us those wins?

I run the servos I run because the older version was the most reliable servo I have ever had and the newer version has not failed ONCE in over two years now. I'll take that over warranties and repair service any day.

Again, not bashing KO, they make great stuff. Just pointing out that service is the least of my concerns. Now let's get back to talking about this car.
